Your work reflects your character. It is such a rare thing to receive great service,
and thank you for giving it!
The best way we can show our appreciation is to tell you about the Lord of Lords and King of kings, who willingly came to serve.
Jesus Himself says in Matthew 20:28,
“The Son of Man [Jesus] did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
The Bad News:
We all deserve hell, because disobedience to an infinite eternal God deserves infinite eternal consequences.
“As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one’” (Romans 3:10).
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
How can imperfect people get into perfect heaven? We can’t—on our own. BUT, God Himself made the way!
The Good News:
God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for all sins.
Remember Good Friday and Easter? Christ’s crucifixion shows us how awful sin is, and His resurrection assures us that the price for it has been paid. God has come to us and made the way of saving us because we could not save ourselves. He paid our ransom!
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)
“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures … He was buried, and … He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3b-4).
We all must realize our need of His forgiveness. “Repent [adopt God’s view on sin], and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15b). His gift of salvation becomes yours when you do. Trust Him now as your Lord and your Savior from the penalty of sin.
Simply reciting a prayer doesn’t save you; God’s redemptive work saves you. But if this is your heart’s desire, you could use the following words to express that you are placing your faith in—and giving your life to—the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray to Him:
“Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned, please forgive me and save me. I believe You died in my place on the cross and rose from death three days later. I put all my trust in Your full payment for all my sin. Please give me a new heart, come live therein and help me to live for You from now on. Thank You for forgiving me and saving me! Amen.”
If you meant that, He assures you that He has received and forgiven you.
“For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’” (Romans 10:13).
