Designing My Tract
-
How long will it take to design my tract?
Our editors will review your tract within 1-2 business days, and then it will go into our queue for design and layout. Based on our current queue, you should see a proof in about 1-2 weeks. After that, the total length of time until the tract is finished depends on several things, including how many changes are needed and how many proofs are required before your tract is just right. -
How much does it cost to design my tract?
For just $74.99, we will design your tract and prepare it for printing. When your final proof is approved, you will receive $20 in PMTpoints which you may apply to printed tracts (or any other item). -
How many printed tracts are included with the design fee?
None. Because everyone’s needs are different, we split the designing and printing of your tract into two steps, each with their own economical pricing. Once your tract has been designed, you can order the perfect quantity for your needs. -
I have designed my own tract, and have a press-ready layout. Can you just print it for me without making any changes?
Possibly, but not likely. Bear in mind that we are a publisher, not a printer. If all you need is printing, there are plenty of commercial printers online who can help you. Because all of the tracts we design are published to our Tract Library and bear our logo on the back, we must ensure that the message meets all of our standards and that we have proper licenses for all images used. -
Can you print booklets?
While we are able to efficiently prepare and print folded tracts, flyers, mini cards, and postcards, we do not yet have a good solution for stapled booklets. For now, the cost of preparing and printing booklets exceeds what we can reasonably offer. -
Is there a charge for revisions?
Our primary goal is to help you create a witnessing tool that is perfectly-suited for your use. We understand that during the process of creating and refining your tract, new ideas may come to mind which require a revision to the text and/or design. That’s why your tract publishing fee includes up to three proofs.
If you have already reviewed three proofs and want to implement more changes before approving your tract for publishing, we’re happy to create as many revisions as you wish. However, each additional proof may require a $24.99 charge. (If an extra proof is required because of a mistake or oversight on our part, you will not be charged for that proof.)
Please note that once you have approved your tract for publishing and it has been posted to our website, any further revisions will also require a $24.99 proof charge. -
Will my tract have the PrintMyTract.com logo on it?
Yes, all of the items published through PrintMyTract.com will bear the ministry’s name and/or logo. That’s one way we help more people discover our ministry—and your excellent tract! -
Are other people allowed to order my tract?
Yes, your tract will be added to our tract library and available for others to purchase. When they do, you will receive 5% of the value of their order in PMTpoints. -
Will you print (insert printed item here) for me?
Maybe. If you can get the Gospel on it and we can print it, we’ll give it a shot. Contact us for more information.

Do you have any tips for writing tracts?
If you follow these simple guidelines, your finished tract will be much more useful.
Be Clear: Try to not use big words if small ones work just as well. Try to not use ten words when five will do. Many people don’t understand "churchy" language, so you may want to explain words such as sin, salvation, grace, and faith instead of just using them.
Be Relevant: Have a few people read your tract to see if they can relate to it. For example, a testimony can be very powerful, but if you include too many personal details, you may limit the tract’s effective audience. Also, consider the type of person who you think will receive your tract and write it with them in mind.
Don’t Be Offensive: Yes, there will always be people who are offended by the fact that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. However, you should be careful that your tract does not unnecessarily offend anyone by its language, tone, or subject matter. Another good principle: instead of just preaching against something, present Christ to the reader.
Use God’s Word: Your story or argument may touch people’s minds or feelings, but only God can save a soul. Present His word faithfully, and quote it whenever possible. God’s word is living and powerful, and He has promised to bless it.
Pray for Guidance: Ask the Lord to help you write your message. Wait for His leading, and seek His glory. -
What types of messages will you publish?
While we don’t maintain a strict list of subjects which are appropriate for the tracts we publish, all messages must adhere to our Statement of Faith.
Also, remember that PrintMyTract.com was founded to provide a means for publishing Gospel messages that would otherwise be difficult to put in print, such as testimonies, out-of-print tracts, and niche subjects. While the ministry has grown since those early days, our commitment to Gospel literature has not changed. If the manuscript you want to print is designed to reach the lost, there is a very good chance that we’ll publish it. However, if you’ve written a message that only addresses an “in-house” issue (or debate) among Christians, or serves to put down, degrade, or attack others, you should probably look elsewhere. There are plenty of printing companies online who will be happy to help you put your message in print. -
Is there anything I shouldn’t include in my message?
Here are a few doctrines and teachings that we encourage you NOT to include in your message. Depending on how central these points are to your message, we will either contact you with proposed edits or cancel your order. This list will be updated as necessary.
- “What you see on the news today is proof that Jesus is coming soon!" Thousands of these messages have been published over the years, and if you go back and read them today they all sound terribly out of date. We need to be careful to not sound like false prophets, who read the "signs of the times" and make bold proclamations about their significance in God's timeline.
- “Name it and claim it” (or “believe it and receive it” etc.). If the point of your message is that God has an easy life in store for believers, we defer you to the words of Jesus: “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). While God has promised to be with us in our trials, He has not promised to remove every burden. If your message promises that when someone becomes a Christian they will be healthy, wealthy, or trouble-free ... you can expect your order to be canceled.
- “Turn completely from your sins, and then put your faith in Jesus.” We've seen several variations on this theme, but the common element is that we must first clean ourselves up to receive salvation. This one is tricky, because it touches on the true essence of two cornerstone doctrines: repentance and grace. Salvation is “by grace ... through faith ... not of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9). A call to repentance is an essential part of the gospel message: to truly trust in Jesus, we must turn from our path of rebellion and begin to think correctly about our sin and who He is. But if your message leaves the impression that repentance as a work of self-improvement which must be completed in order to find favor with God, you can expect it to be edited.
- “You can lose your salvation if you do ___ .” As you can see in our statement of faith, we believe that God’s word teaches all born-again believers are eternally saved. Emphasis on "eternally.”
-
Can I include the “sinner’s prayer”?
Many people like to use a tract which includes a “sinner’s prayer” because it can be a useful tool to demonstrate to the reader what an expression of faith sounds like. However, we caution against their use because they can mislead people into thinking that salvation comes through repeating a few words or signing their name to a piece of paper. The Bible teaches that salvation is the result of a work which God does in a person’s soul, and is received through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you want your tract to include a “sinner’s prayer,” we ask that you clearly state to your reader that just saying the words or praying the prayer does not save them. -
Will my tract be copyrighted?
Only if you want it to be. Because our desire is to see God’s word spread throughout the world, we do not automatically copyright the messages published on PrintMyTract.com. If you would like to copyright your tract, let us know and we will be happy to include a copyright notice. Also note that we will not knowingly publish any tracts currently available at another publisher, as it is our goal to work with God’s people, not to compete against them. Also, if you would like us to re-publish an out-of-print tract, we request that you provide written permission from the author and/or former publisher, if possible. -
Will I still own my message if it is published by PrintMyTract.com?
When you publish a tract through PrintMyTract.com, you retain full ownership of your message and any designs, artwork, etc., which you have created. Because your message is still yours, you may use it for any other purpose you desire. However, because of the investment we make to create the print-ready files (and secure licensed artwork), PrintMyTract.com retains all print-ready files, as well as the right to print and sell copies of the finished tract.
Ordering From the PrintMyTract.com Tract Library
-
How much does it cost to print a tract?
The cost of printed tracts depends on the type of tract and the quantity printed. For print-on-demand tracts, small quantities are more costly per tract, but prices drop rapidly as the quantities increase. If you can plan ahead, it’s always better to print one large order instead of multiple smaller ones. For complete pricing of every format and quantity we offer, please view our pricing page. -
How long does it take to print a tract?
Orders for items printed on cardstock (mini tracts, calendar tracts, and postcard tracts) are printed in 1 week. Folded tracts are completed in about 2-3 weeks. Note that RUSH printing (1 week) is available for folded tracts: see each item (or our pricing page) for details. Depending on where you live, add the appropriate delivery time. -
Are any tracts kept in stock?
PrintMyTract.com is essentially a library of print-on-demand tracts, meaning that no inventory is kept in stock for most items. However, we do have a few tracts ready for immediate delivery. Also, our parent ministry, Moments With The Book, has a large collection of tracts in stock. -
Can you print a tract in a different version or language?
Absolutely. We will gladly produce another version of a tract using an alternate Bible version at no additional charge. However, because of the work involved in producing tracts in different languages, every language will require a separate publishing charge (we can work with you on the price). If you provide the translation, we can publish a tract in any language.
