Did you Pledge?

• Have you committed your life to Christ? Did you confess Him as your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead as the Bible states in Romans 10:9?

• Did you ask Him for forgiveness of your sins? Did you recite the Sinner’s Prayer when you gave your life to Christ and understand that you have given Him complete control over your life?

• Do you realize that you entered a Covenant with God by your acceptance of Jesus Christ and repentance of sin and do you understand what that means?

If you answered yes to all the above questions AND are a member of a secret
society, please see the next set of questions.

• As a part of becoming a member of a secret society, did you swear or repeat an oath of secrecy, to your hurt? (If you divulged any secrets, could it mean a threat to your life?)

• Did you participate in secret rituals and physically bow down to something that you may or may not have sensed was not of God?

• Were you promised worldly prosperity, to always find a job, that wherever you go in the world you’d have a place to stay or be taken care of?

If you answered yes to the above questions, please know that for Christians (true followers of Christ) these actions and behaviors are in contradiction to the Word of God!

About Sworn Oaths:

You may have said a poem, oath, song, or what may have sounded like a prayer. Ask God if what you pronounced was of Him.

Matthew 5:34-37 says, “But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.”

About Bowing Down to Anything Other than God:

What does God say about worshiping or bowing down to other gods or goddesses (Minerva, Athena, Diana, Artemis)? This activity is idolatry.

Exodus 20:3-5 says, “You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.”

About Secret Rituals:

Have you participated in secret rituals? Were the lights turned down? Were candles lit and the table and room arranged in a very specific way? Were guidelines dictated in a book on specific details? Were you told never to mention what happened or what you observed to anyone including your God-given family members? Could things done in secret only be discussed with other members? Where there any names of Greek or Roman gods mentioned like Minerva?

If Jesus was not regarded as the Savior of the world and giving your life to Him was not a requirement to join, then chances are this was a secret ritual.

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops” (Luke 12:2-3).

Christians are not to participate in idol worship. God hates idolatry and the Bible gives many warnings and horrible consequences for practicing it—especially in the House of God or the Church (see Jeremiah 7).

It’s Not Too Late:

If you have read this tract and realize that as a member of a secret society that you have violated Biblical principles, you can repent (turn away from) these dark practices and turn fully to God. He wants to be the only one you bow down to. He demonstrated His love to you and wants to forgive you today.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
