The world is full of wickedness as it lies in a cesspool of sin. Lovers of themselves, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, liars, gossipers, perverted minds, without self control, drunkenness, adultery, profanity, haters of good, brutal, violent, traitors, thieves, reckless, careless, full of pride and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

Imagine with me this conversation between God the Father and His Son (Jesus) as they look upon a world full of rebellion.

The Father says: “My Son, here is a company of poor miserable souls, who have done nothing but break My righteous commandments, who have cursed My Holy Name, who have continually rebelled against their Creator and have rejected My loving kindness. Now they lie open to My justice, where I will utterly destroy them in My wrath. Justice demands satisfaction for them, or will satisfy itself in the eternal ruin of them. What shall be done for these souls?”

Son: “I will go Father, because of My love and pity for them, I will suffer under Your wrath rather that they perish eternally. Lay all their debt and punishment upon Me, so that they may be free from Your justice and made right with You.”

Father: “My Son, if You will go expect no abatement. You will suffer the full measure of My wrath that is due to them. There will be no deduction. If I spare them I will not spare You.”

Son: “Let it be so, Father. Put it all upon Me so that they may be saved from eternal destruction and be brought into eternal life, to see the glory of Your infinite majesty.”

And a virgin shall bring forth a son and shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

So it was that Jesus was born of a virgin, performed many miracles and preached the kingdom of God, all while living a perfect sinless life.

His bargain with the Father is near, He must drink the cup of God’s wrath.

My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death ... He fell on His face and prayed, saying: ‘My Father if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me, nevertheless not as I will, but as You will’. (Matthew 26:38-39)

And being in agony He prayed very fervently, and His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down upon the ground. (Luke 22:44)

He drank the cup and He was led to the cross, with a crown of thorns on His head, nails driven through His hands and feet, His flesh whipped and torn, His soul suffering in agony.

He was wounded and pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, His soul was made an offering for sin. (Isaiah 53)

“The Cross is the danger signal to you. It warns you that if God spared not His only Son, He will not spare you. It is the lighthouse set on the rocks of sin to warn you that swift and sure destruction awaits you if you continue to rebel against the Lord.” –Charles Spurgeon

He bore the sins of all the world, which means His soul suffered infinitely beyond what we can imagine. The just for the unjust.

Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God our Father. (Gal. 1:4)

He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.(2 Cor. 5:21)

In this was the love of God revealed to us, because God sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Here is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the perfect atoning sacrifice and legal satisfaction for our sins. (1 John 4:9-10)

Jesus could not be held by death because there was no death (sin) in Him. He rose from the dead on the third day where many saw and witnessed His resurrection.

I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. (John 11:25)

Jesus is the only way to eternal life.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

How can I have eternal life? How can I be saved?

Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)

He [God] is long suffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

Jesus said, except you repent you shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3)

What is repentance?

Repentance is realizing you have neglected and rebelled against God Almighty. Realizing that you are guilty before a just God and that you deserve His wrath. Because of these realizations you are truly sorry for your ignorance towards a loving God. Your heart might begin to cry “Jesus save me from this world!” Repentance is turning from sin and the world, and surrendering your life to Christ. So that you might pray “God let Your will be done in my life and not my own will!”

Jesus said: If any man come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what does a man profit, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26)

Is popularity, being a success and indulging in sinful pleasures really worth your eternal soul?

Put your faith in Christ

Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen [world, stars, sun, etc.] were not made out of things that are visible. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:1,3,6)

For the things which are seen are temporary but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Cor. 4:18)

Faith is trusting God and believing that He is who He says He is through His Word (the Bible), no matter what trial or test comes your way.

Though He slay me, yet I will trust in Him. (Job 13:15)

For we walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7)

All things work together for good to them who love God. (Rom. 8:28)

What are you putting your faith in? Your own good works? Your own reasoning? The wisdom of men? A religion? Going to church? Doing the religious routines? All these lead to the same place, Hell. Jesus said it’s a place where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Your only hope is putting your faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ.

You must be born again!

Jesus said, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

If you have truly repented and put your faith in Christ, you will be born again (born spiritually) and the Holy Spirit will enter into your heart. Your desires will begin to change and your eyes will begin to see the goodness of God and the wickedness of this world. You will now be willing to sacrifice your dreams and plans so that God’s will may be done in your life.

Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things become new. (2 Cor. 5:17)

You will now hate sin and love God. You will now desire to grow in holiness and to be more like Jesus Christ. Your soul may thirst for more and more of God and you will want to draw closer to Him by prayer and by reading His Word. The desires for this world will fade away as you walk deeper into your relationship with God and you will be longing for that blessed day when you see His Glory. There will come a day when all who are not born again will wish that they were never born at all.

Warnings

Sadly, many people claim to be Christians but are not whole-hearted followers of Christ and they are not truly born again.

They profess that they know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient and to every good work worthless. (Titus 1:16)

These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. (Matthew 15:8)

Be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1:22)

The Holy Bible (Scripture) is the Word of God

Jesus said, if a man loves Me he will keep My words. (John 14:23)

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16 )

If you are saved and born again you will have a passion for the Word of God.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Rom. 10:17)

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away. (Matt. 24:35)

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Matt. 4:4)

For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing in two of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a judge of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. (Psalms 119:105)

You must read God’s Word to examine yourself and judge yourself. His Word is His plan to shape your life into a life that will bring glory to His name. I recommend these versions: KJV, NASB, ESV and NLT. I also recommend that you start reading in either Matthew or John. Read the whole New Testament before you start reading the Old. Be sure to pray before you begin reading and ask God to reveal His word and for the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart.

Why will we be students of man and not students of the Almighty Word of God?

The Adversary

You must know that there is a devil “Satan” who rules the systems of this world.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

He will tempt you and do all he can to keep you away from the Bible and prayer, no matter how innocent his schemes appear to be. There is no need to fear him as long as you hold on to your faith and keep yourself in the love of God.

There might not be a tomorrow

Now is the time, today is the day, flee from your sin and run to the loving Savior, who will not leave you nor forsake you.

For the invisible attributes of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and divine nature, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it: but he that does the will of God abides for ever. (1 John 2:15-17)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Prov. 1:7)

Do not fear them which kill the body and are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. (Matt. 10:28)

Do you despise the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Rom. 2:4)

Cry out to Him and surrender your life to Him. Repent and confess your sin. Put all your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and be adopted into the family of God.

I beg you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. (Prov. 3:5-7)

Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things which you know not. (Jer. 33:3)

Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has planned for those who love Him. (1 Cor. 2:9)

“If God is of infinite value, splendor and beauty, then it follows that the most splendid and most beautiful gift He could ever give to His creatures is the revelation of Himself.” –Paul Washer
