When I was a child, I liked to walk around a junk yard. I’d see old cars that were rusted out from neglect and fairly new cars that were smashed in from abuse—and both were useless. I wondered how they got that way.

Now as a man, I like going to classic car shows and seeing all the old cars that were restored. The owners put a lot of time, money, and loving care into restoring them.

When God made the world, He said it was very good (Genesis 1:31). Then sin entered the world through Adam. God told Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). But Adam chose to do so, and he disobeyed God. Because of this, sin entered the world. Since then, the world been going downhill like the junk cars.

Like Adam, we all have sinned. We have all chosen to disobey God and our sin separates us from Him.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

We all need restoration, but the good news is God is the great restorer!

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works...” Ephesians 2:10

Like the owners of those classic cars, our restoration also came at a price. God paid the greatest price of all—His Son. Jesus died on the cross for our sin to restore our relationship with God.

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6

So, have you asked God’s Son, Jesus, to be your Savior? He can restore you and make you a child of God if you believe in Him and what He has done for you. Turn to God and put your trust in Jesus to receive forgiveness of sins today. Don’t delay!

“Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember
no more.” Hebrews 10:17

“Now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2
