God Loves You.
God knows all about you. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. Psalms 139:2-3
God cares about you. Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
God wants to strengthen you in times of trouble. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
God loves you. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (i.e. the sacrifice that satisfies our sin debt) for our sins. 1 John 4:10
There Is No God.
People who don’t believe in God believe our universe and life itself began by chance, without any purpose, and without God’s involvement. They believe humans share a common ancestry with all plants and animals. Do you believe humans, whales, insects, and weeds all originated from the same single celled organism? The Bible says…
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1b
You Can’t Go To Heaven By Being Good.
Many people think they are going to Heaven because they are good or their good outweighs their bad. This is in opposition to the Bible which teaches that people are saved (i.e. to receive God’s gift of salvation and live forever in Heaven when they die) by faith alone (believing).
God’s standard of goodness, the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17), shows us we are all sinners guilty before God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;” Romans 3:10 But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; Isaiah 64:6a
God Will Let Me Into Heaven Because I’m A Good Person.
God gave us the Ten Commandments (the law) to show us our sins, not as a way to get to Heaven. The Bible says that on the day of judgment without faith in Jesus Christ we will stand before God guilty of our sins. There won’t be any debate.
That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law (our attempts to keep the law) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:19b,20
There Is A Penalty For Ours Sins.
Because God is a holy and righteous judge, He cannot simply excuse our sins as if they never happened. God’s righteousness requires that a penalty must be paid for our sins.
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. Revelation 20:12a And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire (Hell). Revelation 20:15
Our sins have earned us death (i.e. spiritual separation from God), but God offers forgiveness of our sins through faith in Jesus Christ! For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son (Jesus Christ). 1 John 5:11
There Will Not Be A Penalty For My Sins.
The Bible says clearly that God will punish all unbelievers for their sins in Hell. Once an unbeliever dies and goes to Hell he or she cannot escape Hell or be prayed out of it.
Jesus Paid The Penalty For Our Sins.
Jesus, God’s sinless sacrifice for mankind, came to earth and willingly died to pay the penalty for our sins, so that we don’t have to. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The Bible is speaking of Jesus when making it clear that there is no other way than by faith in Jesus Christ by which we must be saved. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus Was Just A Teacher and A Prophet.
Jesus was a great teacher, a great prophet, and much more! Jesus was God in human form.
He who has seen Me has seen the Father; John 14:9b
I and My Father are one. John 10:30
Also, for Christians, Jesus is their Savior and Lord. Faith in Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins is God’s only provision by which people can be saved from Hell and go to Heaven when they die.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
God’s Gift of Salvation Is Available To You.
Jesus didn’t come to earth to condemn us. We are already condemned by our sins. Rather, Jesus came to save all who would put their trust in Him. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17
The Bible tells us what we must do to be saved. That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
Do you want get saved and be 100% certain you are going to Heaven when you die? If so, tell God you are a sinner, you want to turn from your sins, and you want Jesus to be your Savior and Lord. To make Jesus your Lord means to willingly submit to His will for your life. Put your trust in Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins and God will save you just as He has promised! It’s your believing that saves you, not your words.
I Don’t Need To Make A Decision Now. I’ve Got Plenty Of Time.
The truth is all of us die and many of us die suddenly. You may never have another opportunity to get saved.
You Cannot Lose Your Salvation.
It doesn’t matter what sins you have committed or how badly you have sinned. When you get saved God forgives all your past sins and all your future sins. Also, you become a born again child of God and nothing in this life can change that! Just as you can’t change who your biological mother and father are, you can never change your heavenly Father once you get saved.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26
All believers have God’s Holy Spirit living within them.
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God Romans 8:16
You Can Lose Your Salvation.
Jesus spoke of the eternal security of true believers.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. John 10:27-29
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24
We Are To Love God and Serve Others.
Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
Christians receive the gift of salvation through their faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by doing good works.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
However Christians should serve other people from hearts forever grateful to God for His gift to them of eternal life in Heaven. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. Matthew 5:16
My Life Is Great! I Don’t Need Jesus.
Your life may be great, you may be very successful financially, and do a lot of good for other people; but in the end none of that will matter if you don’t have Jesus as your Savior. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Mark 8:36
God has told us what’s true through His word, the Bible. Some people will believe and some won’t. Are you a believer?
