If we could sit down for a cup of coffee, this is what...I'd share with you
Let me share my story… I was born with a big hole in my heart that longed to be filled with love and truth. In fact, we’re all born with a hole in our hearts. I’d like to share my story of how my hole got filled, and hopefully yours will, too.
Looking in all the Wrong Places
Growing up, my parents divorced, and as a result I looked for love in all the wrong relationships. I also spent my younger years looking for truth in all the wrong religions. No matter how hard I tried, I was miserable because I could not find the right answers. Thoughts of suicide and hopelessness filled my heart, leaving me feeling depressed and with no purpose.
No Answers...Until One Day
I had no answers until one day at age 21, I was sitting at a kitchen table with family and someone said these words: “Jesus loves you and He longs to have a personal relationship with you.” For a second, I thought “that’s impossible,” because I never went to church and I didn’t “believe” in God.
What happened next was supernatural. A great flood of unconditional love overcame me and in an instant I knew Jesus to be true because my heart was filled with His love. It was like being in a dark room which was suddenly illuminated. I was flooded with light and my life has been forever changed.
I was Born Again
I was given a new chance to live a life that pleases God. I was forgiven of my sins, and received a heart full of love and truth. I now have purpose and finally understand why I’m here. I am truly happy, and no matter what chaos may occur around me, I possess a deep and lasting peace in my heart.
Decades later, I am sharing this powerful experience in the hopes that you too can have an incredible new chance at life.
Friend, Jesus loves you just the way you are, and He longs to show you the way, the truth and the life. He longs for you to enjoy living in relationship with Him now, and also forever in heaven with Him. He has a great purpose for you and He wants to help you accomplish it. He wants to give you a clean slate as if you had never sinned before, and He wants to give you everlasting peace.
To provide these things for you, Jesus (the Son of God) left His home in heaven and walked this earth about 2,000 years ago. He taught people about God’s righteousness, love and truth. He fed the hungry. He healed the sick. He raised the dead. Then He voluntarily laid down His life, bearing the weight and punishment of your sin—and mine. Then, three days later, He rose from the dead—demonstrating His victory over sin and death.
Do You want this New Life?
If you long for the hole in your heart to be filled with His Spirit, then it’s time to turn from your way to God’s way. Put your trust in Jesus, who died for you and lives again. Talk to God from your heart—it might sound something like this: “I say YES to your love, Jesus. Holy Spirit come into my heart and show me the way, the truth and the life. I receive forgiveness of all my sins, fill my life with truth and light. I receive everything You have for me, Father, including salvation. Thank you, Jesus!”
If you have called upon God to save you, putting all your trust in Jesus, know that He will do great things in your life, for He loves you very much. He will guide your steps one day at a time by His Spirit and Word.
“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness” (John 12:46).
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved” (Romans 10:9,10).
