As we journey through life, we can often feel like a ship at sea. We sail along smoothly day after day then we seem to lose direction. There are no stars to be seen and we’ve lost sight of the shore. Floating aimlessly, we try to navigate and stay on course.
Then, a storm hits! Rain, wind and waves crash in on us. It’s a struggle to stay afloat. In our panic to survive, we are desperate to find answers. Some of our options in life offer a temporary fix but rarely get us safely to the shore.
In Luke 8:22-25 we find Jesus and His disciples in a boat in the middle of the sea. Then a storm came! The boat was swamped, and the disciples feared for their lives. The situation was hopeless! They turned to Jesus for help. Jesus said to them “Where is Your faith?”
That is our challenge as we sail through life … who or what are we trusting? Christ wants us to have faith in Him to guide us through life and welcome us to the Heavenly shore.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Are you trusting Jesus?
Have you asked Him to be your Savior?
