The legal and judicial systems in most countries have records of the trials and punishments from various cases. Sadly, it is not uncommon to see cases of people who were tried, convicted, and sentenced to a punishment who were not really guilty. Some of these individuals have served complete or partial sentences before the court realized they were not guilty. Others never had a chance of a fair judgment until after their death.
Most people today have at least heard about Jesus, but many do not really know who He is, what He brought to mankind and how they can benefit from what He has to offer. Many of us have a perception of Him without hearing the whole story. Could it be that we are too quick to pass our judgment and sentencing on Him without a good review of His case? Could it be that we have only partial knowledge of Him and have shut the door of our hearts to Him without knowing or fully understanding what He has to offer? The key to a door might be in your hands, but if you do not put it to use, you will be prevented from accessing that house and all that it has to offer.
This leaflet cannot carry all that is to be said about Jesus. But let me briefly introduce Him to you. Jesus is the king of glory who was crucified for you. John 14:6 states that Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” No one can come to the Father except through Him. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who came to show us the way to life. He came to restore humankind to its original place of dominion as planned by God. He came to give us what is rightfully ours, but was stolen by the devil. Jesus loves you. Jesus cares for you. Jesus is the giver of life. Jesus came to set you free from things that are controlling your life. Addictions are from the devil and Jesus came to give you the power to kick the devil out of your life. He gives you the power to fire the devil out of your life and to allow the blessings and the glory of God to flow in your life, family, career, business and all your endeavors.
Jesus is standing at your door and knocking. Revelation 3:20 states “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” You can open your heart to Jesus and enjoy all that He has to offer.
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
Many of us have rejected Jesus without knowing who He is. If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can open your heart now. You should repent of your sins, and pray to Him from your heart. You can pray in this manner:
“Lord Jesus, I am sorry I have rejected you with my words, thoughts, and lifestyle. Jesus, I believe that you died to pay for my sin and rose again from the grave. I ask that you to forgive me of all my sins. I welcome you sinto my heart. Be my Lord and Savior. Change my heart and make me new. Write my name in the Book of Life. Lead my life from today onward. Give me the power by your Spirit to live for You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”
If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, you are now a child of God. Welcome into the family of God. This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. As a newborn child of God, you need to grow in your spiritual walk with God. Just as newborn babies need to be taken care of and nurtured to grow, you need the following to continue in your spiritual growth.
Food—The word of God is your spiritual food. You need to study the word of God daily. “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2).
Air to breathe—You need to talk to God daily. You need to pray daily. He is your father; He loves to hear from you. He loves to share your burdens with you. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
Family—You need a Bible-believing church family to help you grow in your new life. Find a group of people who are washed by His blood, whose lives have been transformed, and who are living for God to also walk with you in your journey with God.
