Look again at the picture . . . did you see it?
That little blue dot is Earth, shown to scale in comparison to our Sun. In fact, scientists say that our Sun is so big that you could fit “1.3 Million” Earths inside of it. Mind boggling, isn’t it? Makes you wonder if your life really matters at all. Well, to be honest, it doesn’t . . . if you have bought into the evolutionary idea that you’re nothing more than a molecular machine in motion with no meaning or purpose. And if that’s the case, you may often feel an emptiness inside that you just can’t explain, even though you’re able to nearly satisfy every pleasurable desire that you can conjure up.
But you know what, there is an alternative explanation as to why you’re here. You do matter, my friend! You are valued more than you will ever know and there is a purpose for your existence. From the very beginning of creation, God desires to have a relationship with you and me. Reconciliation, ransom, and sacrifice are all the result of God’s relentless pursuit to bring each one of us close to Himself without violating our free-will. The Bible says in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
Listen my friend, you and I will soon leave the bounds of time and enter upon eternity. So to find out what your ultimate purpose is, read the Bible for yourself . . . in context. And as you read through the holy scriptures, you will also discover what it means to biblically repent of your sins and put your trust in Christ alone for the salvation of your soul.
