Heaven oftentimes seems like an imaginary paradise. It’s hard to believe in a place where there is no pain or loss, no financial concerns or looming crises. We have no idea what it would be like for every day to be a good day. Those of us who find ourselves constantly surrounded by dramatic events, would be able to experience a peace unlike ever imagined. Heaven is real.
What would heaven be like? The streets of heaven are paved with gold and its gates are made of pearl (Revelation 21:21). There is no rust or deterioration (Matthew 6:20). There is no pain or sickness or death or tears in heaven (Isaiah 25:8). We will even be reunited with loved ones who have died(1Thessalonians 4:17). Our circumstances cause us so much pain here on earth. Heaven is surely something to look forward to.
How can I get to heaven? Heaven is reserved for those who believe in God, follow God, and love God. It isn’t enough to know that God exists, we must know Him personally. You wouldn’t build a home and live with someone that you don’t know. To follow God is to go where He would go and do what He would do. When choosing someone to live with, you want someone whose character is like yours. This maintains peace and in the home and the relationship. Loving God is simply doing what He asks and trusting Him to know what is best. These requirements may seem hard, but God will help.
How will God help me get to heaven? God offers salvation and forgiveness and strength. If we would just believe on Jesus and trust our lives to Him, we will be saved.
What's the best part about heaven? The best part about heaven is being able to see Jesus face to face and recognizing that this journey here on earth was all worth it!!
Thank you for preparing a place for me. I can’t wait to see you. Give me the strength to endure.
WHAT IF GOD WAS PREPARING A PLACE FOR YOU?
God wants us with Him:
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14:3
We should long to reside in a place that is free from the snares of sin:
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11:16
Even with all of the descriptions in the Bible, it is far better than we could ever imagine:
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
