“Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23).
Do you see evidence of salvation in your life? According to 2 Corinthians 13:5, you should examine yourself to see if you are “in the faith.” Jesus said that true Christians would be known by their “fruits” (Matthew 7:20).
If that’s not the case, you may not be a Christian. What are the marks of a true believer? In the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), Jesus gave nine characteristics of His followers. Are they in your life? Examine yourself!
