If you’ve ever purchased a shiny new vehicle, you more than likely had a desire to show it off. If you’ve ever had the privilege of closing the deal on a brand new home, it’s probable that you wanted to invite people over to experience this blessing firsthand. Or if you’ve been blessed with a sharp new outfit, you couldn’t wait to model it in front of others.
Much in the same way, if you have a friend that has changed your life for the better … you want others to become acquainted with them.
May I tell you about a friend who many years ago literally transformed my life? That friend is JESUS. When I came to know Him through salvation, He blessed me in so many ways:
• He gave me joy that I had never known. (John 15:11)
• He shared with me a peace that I had not experienced. (John 14:27)
• He forgave me of my sins and wrongs. (1 John 1:9)
• He gave me direction so I no longer struggled with feeling lost. (John 14:26)
• He made me a part of a church family who accepted me and prayed for me. (Hebrews 10:23-25)
• He secured me a guaranteed home in a wonderful place called Heaven where I will live eternally. (John 14)
Wouldn’t you like to accept this friend into your life today?
1. Realize that you cannot experience Heaven apart from this Friend:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
2. Realize that you’re a sinner who must be born again:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).
3. Realize the penalty for sin is Death:
“The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
4. Realize that your Friend (Jesus) died to pay the penalty for every sin:
“God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
5. Realize that your Friend (Jesus) was miraculously resurrected from Death:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”
(Romans 10:9).
6. Realize that your Friend (Jesus) will forgive you of every sin, save your soul, and transform your life … if you will simply ask Him right now:
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died to pay the penalty for my sinfulness. I also believe that you have risen from the dead. And at this very moment, I ask you to forgive me for my sins, please save my soul, transform my life, and become my dearest Friend. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen!
