What do you believe you need to do in order to go to Heaven?

Check all necessary things:

1. Keep the Ten Commandments

2. Give gifts to charity

3. Do your best

4. Be a good, law abiding citizen

5. Do nice things for others

6. Live by the Golden Rule

7. Tithe or give money to the church

8. Be a member of a Church

9. Attend church regularly

10. Pray

11. Fast

12. Be Baptized

13. Partake in Holy Communion

14. Be born of Christian parents

15. Confirmation

16. Penances

17. Partake of Extreme Unction

18. Member of a lodge or fraternity

If you checked:

No. 1 — You are mistaken because mortal man is incapable of keeping the Ten Commandments. God calls any violation of His Law for Man’s Behavior (i.e. the Ten Commandments) sin, consequently, all are sinners. This is why the Holy Bible states: “by the deeds of the law [the Ten Commandments] there shall no flesh be justified [judged to be righteous] in his [God’s] sight:” (Romans 3:20)

No. 2, 3, or 4 — You are basing your hopes on something which, according to the Holy Bible, will never save you. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).

No. 5, 6, or 7 — You will never see Heaven’s golden streets, because the emphatic declaration of God is: “For grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8, 9)

No. 8, 9, 10, or 11 — You are bound for Hell, not Heaven. Although these things are all good in themselves, and although they might seem to you to be sufficient to save you, yet God declares in His sacred Word: “we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags:” (Isaiah 64:6)

No. 12 or 13 — You are definitely not on your way to Heaven because baptism and communion are for those who are already saved—for those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb (see Acts 2:41 and 1 Corinthians 11:2, 23-32). These ordinances cannot save anyone and were never intended to do so.

No. 14 — You have a false hope. Children born into Christian homes need to be saved just like everyone else. “as many as received him [Christ], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood [not inheritable], nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12, 13)

No. 15, 16, 17, or 18 — You need to wake up before it is too late. None of these things are even mentioned in the Holy Bible. They are merely inventions of men, and it is nothing short of ridiculous to hope to reach Heaven by any of these means.

Therefore, the inescapable conclusion is that the way to Heaven is not found in any one or any combination of items 1-18. In fact, even if you did them all, you would still not be judged righteous enough to enter Heaven and you would wind up being damned to Hell for ever and ever.

WHAT THEN IS THE DIVINELY ORDAINED WAY TO OBTAIN IMMORTALITY AND ETERNAL LIFE IN GLORY?

The Holy Bible gives the definitive answer: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved [from eternal damnation].” (Romans 10:9)

God knew full well that man is incapable of saving himself from eternal damnation therefore, being merciful, He sent His only begotten Son to redeem us from the penalty for being sinners. “the wages of sin is death; [eternal damnation]” (Romans 6:23).

The Lord Jesus Christ shed His sinless blood on Mt. Calvary to pay for our sins because “without shedding of [sinless] blood [there] is no remission [of sin].” (Hebrews 9:22)

He then arose from the grave on the third day proving that He is life eternal. “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself” (John 5:26).

And, He promises to give eternal life to whoever trusts in Him. “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die” (John 11:25, 26).

In short: all people are born sinners and will die and go to Hell if they do not have a Savior because “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

Good works, good character, personal effort, worship, or adherence to religious rituals of any kind will avail nothing when you stand before God Almighty at the Judgment. And, all will stand before God in judgment because “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27)

So, don’t let foolish pride stand in the way of eternal life in a perfect, immortal body. Stop trying to work your way to Heaven and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior TODAY for “How [else] shall we escape [the flames of Hell], if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;”? (Hebrews 2:3)

Therefore, if you want to go to heaven when you die:

You must be truly sorrowful for your inability to keep God’s Law for Man’s Behavior [i.e. the Ten Commandments] because “godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation” (2 Corinthians 7:10).

Repent of your sins because “except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)

Call on Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour being fully convicted that “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
