A new day is coming. A day of pure happiness. A world beyond your imagination. However, only a few will be allowed to enter this glorious age to come. Will you be one of the few who discovers the narrow way and be counted worthy to obtain the world to come?
When Jesus walked the earth around 2,000 years ago he spoke about the kingdom of God. You don’t hear much today about the central theme of what Jesus preached, which was the kingdom of God. It has been all but removed from the gospel message. The very purpose God sent Jesus was to preach the kingdom of God. Jesus himself said:
“I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” — Luke 4:43
Knowing what the kingdom of God is will change your life. You need to know what it is and how to tell others about it. Too many people settle for vague beliefs about the future and what is to come. Some believe Jesus is coming back but are not sure what will happen after that. The kingdom of God is not a metaphor, or some fuzzy idea or feeling. If the purpose of God sending His own Son was to preach the kingdom of God then I dare say we better know what it is.
The kingdom of God is a real world-ruling government that Jesus Christ is bringing to this earth at his return. It will expand the entire globe. Jesus and his saints will rule all peoples and nations in glory and power on a beautifully transformed earth.
The kingdom of God is a real literal government consisting of a King, territory, laws and subjects. The King is Jesus Christ. The territory will be the entire earth. The law will be based on peace and righteousness. The subjects will be those who in this life have believed on Jesus and followed him as his true disciples. Other subjects will most likely include the nations which remain at the coming of Christ.
The arrival of Jesus Christ at his coming will be the most magnificent event in all of human history. Every person who has followed Christ in this age will rule the coming world under his leadership. The saints will judge the world and also judge angels. What an incredible destiny that lies ahead for the followers of Jesus Christ.
The reward of the saved is not an eternity of luxury on a cloud with a harp, it is ruling the world to come in glory under Christ. God wants you to look forward to a better world than what you are living in right now. The world that Jesus Christ will establish at his return will be truly amazing beyond comprehension.
So what do we do now while we wait for that glorious kingdom to arrive on this earth? Fortunately you don’t have to wait until the return of Christ to discover the purpose of your life in this present age. You can receive the promise of citizenship and inheritance in God’s kingdom now and spend the rest of your days in training and preparation for the coming kingdom of God on earth.
How does one receive the promise of citizenship in God’s kingdom?
"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." — Acts 17:30-31
"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord," — Acts 3:19
The purpose of this message is to bring you the good news of the coming kingdom of God and of its King, Jesus Christ. You can be part of Christ and his kingdom if you believe the good news, repent and put your faith in Christ.
"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;.…He who does not love Me does not keep My words" — Jn 14:23-24
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." — 2Chr 7:14
If we desire to be reconciled to God we must put our faith in what Jesus did for us (he died on the cross and paid the full price of the sin debt that we owe). Start reading your Bible daily and pray to God. Start obeying what you read. God will draw close to you if you draw close to Him.
Entrance into God’s Kingdom can only come through Jesus Christ. You must go through Jesus in order to gain access into God’s kingdom.
Do not be deceived by those who would have you believe that a moment of faith which occurred sometime in your past has you covered for the future; you must not only have a moment of faith, you must live by faith. Remain steadfast in your faith until the very end. Do not depart from the faith like many others who have jeopardized eternal life for the things of this present world.
God’s word (the Holy Bible) describes a way of life that God desires us to have. We don’t have to wait for the coming of Christ to experience families without strife, confusion, and heartache. A life of peace and righteousness can start now. We can be blessings to our families and to those around us (not a curse).
If you are willing to come under Jesus’ rule now in this age, you will have the chance to spread that rule throughout the world under the direction of Jesus Christ reigning with him as kings and priests, glorious and powerful sons of God throughout all eternity. That day is on our very doorstep.
Look all around you in this present evil age and you will quickly discover that righteousness is not the predominate characteristic among the nations of the earth. But there is a righteous King on the way to this earth who will rule the entire globe with a rod of iron.
It is important to mention that new believers who accepted the gospel message throughout the New Testament were water baptized.
But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. — Acts 8:12
Becoming a disciple of Jesus is not something to be taken lightly; this is not a game. You are giving your life over to King Jesus to be his servant. I can assure you it will be the best decision you’ve ever made. Yes, it will cost you the pleasures of this life, but remember that no one has seen or heard what God has waiting for those who love Him. Not only will you receive eternal life and dwell with God Himself and the Lord Jesus Christ face to face, but you will receive rewards that are beyond your imagination. The greatest desires of your heart in this age cannot compare with the riches that await you in the kingdom of God.
God is calling you to prepare yourself now before it’s too late. The lake of fire awaits those who ignore the reality of God and His plan of salvation for mankind. Many people today are too busy for God. Don’t let that be you. Slow down for a moment. Think deeply about what you are reading right now. Consider that your soul is at stake. The Devil wants your soul.
Your life can be transformed now. God can turn your life around and put you on the narrow road that leads to eternal life if you call out to Him. His two greatest commandments are for us to love Him with all of our heart and to love other people as we love ourselves. God can give you a heart of compassion to start caring about others. Jesus set the example for us to serve other people and not forget the poor and the needy.
If you have not already accepted Christ’s gospel of the kingdom of God through repentance toward God and faith toward Christ, I pray that you will today. Only God knows if you will have tomorrow. May God be with you.
