Are there really 3 things that God cannot do? Can’t God do everything? Let’s take a look at God’s own Word to see what He tells us.

1. GOD CANNOT LIE

It is impossible for God to lie, because it is against who He is. God is Holy and His Word is truth. Psalm 119:160 says “the entirety of [God’s] word is truth.”

2. GOD CANNOT CHANGE

God’s character, will, and promises never change. He tells us in His Word, “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). Only God is unchangeable.

3. GOD CANNOT ALLOW SINNERS INTO HEAVEN

This seems hard to believe, but it is absolutely true—and true forever—because God cannot lie and God cannot change. God Himself says “your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you” (Isaiah 59:2). Sin cannot be found in Heaven where God is!

Unfortunately, this is very bad news for all of us because we read that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This may be difficult to believe, but you and I are sinners. Even if we think we are “pretty good,” the Bible says otherwise. We read in 1 John 1:10: “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him [God] a liar.” Our sin will keep us from Heaven.

Is there a way to Heaven? How can we get there?

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). There are not many ways to get to Heaven. There is one way, and that way is Jesus Himself, because He alone “suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18).

Again, we know this is true, because God said it and He doesn’t lie and He doesn’t change. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Salvation is only through Jesus.

There is a conversation recorded in the Bible where someone asks: “What must I do to be saved?” The answer was: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:30-31). You may ask, “But, don’t I have to do something else?” God gives the answer: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). God made salvation so plain and so simple.

Simply take God at His Word. His Word is eternally true (see Psalm 119:160).

You now know that you are a sinner; you know that there is no salvation in works; and you know that you must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. God tells you, “Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15). “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

Have you repented and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? If so, you can know that you have eternal life.

God says in 1 John 5:13, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” In the past, you may have hoped that you were going to Heaven. Now you may know it!

¿De verdad hay 3 cosas que Dios no puede hacer? ¿Acaso Dios no puede hacerlo todo? Echemos un vistazo a la propia Palabra de Dios para ver lo que Él nos dice.

1. DIOS NO PUEDE MENTIR

Es imposible que Dios mienta, porque va en contra de lo que Él es. Dios es Santo y Su Palabra es verdad. El salmo 119:160 dice: “La suma de Tu palabra es verdad”.

2. DIOS NO PUEDE CAMBIAR

El carácter, la voluntad y las promesas de Dios nunca cambian. Él nos dice en Su Palabra: “Yo, el Señor, no cambio” (Malaquías 3:6). Sólo Dios es inmutable.

3. DIOS NO PUEDE PERMITIR QUE LOS PECADORES ENTREN EN EL CIELO

Esto parece difícil de creer, pero es absolutamente cierto —y es cierto para siempre—, porque Dios no puede mentir y Dios no puede cambiar. Él mismo dice: “Pero las iniquidades de ustedes han hecho separación entre ustedes y su Dios, y los pecados le han hecho esconder Su rostro” (Isaías 59:2). ¡El pecado no puede existir en el Cielo donde está Dios!

Lamentablemente, estas son muy malas noticias para todos nosotros, porque leemos que “todos pecaron y no alcanzan la gloria de Dios” (Romanos 3:23). Esto puede ser difícil de creer, pero tú y yo somos pecadores. Aunque pensemos que somos “bastante buenos”, la Biblia dice lo contrario. Leemos en 1 Juan 1:10: “Si decimos que no hemos pecado, lo hacemos a Él mentiroso”. Nuestro pecado nos mantendrá alejados del Cielo.

¿Existe un camino al Cielo? ¿Cómo podemos llegar allí?

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por Mí” (Juan 14:6). No hay muchos caminos para llegar al Cielo. Sólo hay un camino, y ese camino es Jesús mismo, porque sólo Él “murió por los pecados una sola vez, el justo por los injustos, para llevarnos a Dios” (1 Pedro 3:18).

De nuevo, sabemos que esto es verdad, porque Dios lo dijo y Él no miente y no cambia. “En ningún otro hay salvación, porque no hay otro nombre bajo el cielo dado a los hombres, en el cual podamos ser salvos” (Hechos 4:12).

La salvación sólo es posible a través de Jesús.

En la Biblia está registrada una conversación en la que alguien preguntó: “¿Qué debo hacer para ser salvo?”. Y la respuesta fue: “Cree en el Señor Jesús, y serás salvo” (Hechos 16:30-31). Tal vez preguntarás: “Pero ¿no tengo que hacer algo más?”. Dios te da la respuesta: “Por gracia ustedes han sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no procede de ustedes, sino que es don de Dios; no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe” (Efesios 2:8-9). Dios hizo que la salvación fuera tan clara y tan sencilla.

Simplemente confía en lo que Dios te dice. Su Palabra es eternamente verdadera (ver Salmo 119:160).

Ahora ya sabes que eres un pecador; sabes que no hay salvación por medio de las obras; y sabes que debes creer en el Señor Jesucristo para ser salvo. Dios dice: “arrepiéntanse y crean en el evangelio” (Marcos 1:15). “Si confiesas con tu boca a Jesús por Señor, y crees en tu corazón que Dios lo resucitó de entre los muertos, serás salvo” (Romanos 10:9).

¿Te has arrepentido y has creído en el Señor Jesucristo como tu Salvador? Si es así, puedes saber que tienes vida eterna.

Dios dice en 1 Juan 5:13: “Estas cosas les he escrito a ustedes que creen en el nombre del Hijo de Dios, para que sepan que tienen vida eterna”. En el pasado, tal vez tenías la esperanza de que irías al cielo. ¡Pero ahora puedes tener la certeza de ello!
