Jesus Loves Me is perhaps the best-known gospel song in the world. You have probably sung it many times, but have you ever listened carefully to what it says? Do you believe it? Have you trusted Jesus as Savior?

Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Jesus loves you more than anybody else ever has, or ever will. We know it is true, because the Bible says: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Jesus, the one who had power to create the world, suffered for our sins so we don’t have to.

Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later, He opened the way to heaven that was closed to us because of the bad things we do. Now He wants us to come.

Jesus loves me, though I’m bad,
And He waits to make me glad;
Waits to fold me in His arm,
Keep me safe from every harm.

Some people might stop loving us when we do bad things, but Jesus loves even the worst sinner in the world, and wants everyone to come to Him for salvation (Romans 5:8).

Even after people made fun of Jesus, beat Him up, pushed a crown made out of thorns into His head, and nailed His hands and feet to a cross, He looked at them in love and said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).

Jesus loves me, He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
If I trust Him, by and by,
He will take me home on high.

When you trust Jesus as your Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, He washes away your sin and promises that you will live forever with Him in heaven. Until then, He will be your closest friend, never leaving you (Hebrews 13:5). By living your life for Jesus, and by reading your Bible and praying every day, you will enjoy a closeness with God that will give you the richest blessings and truest happiness that you could ever have. Plus, when hard times come, He will be right there to help you through them.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!

Can you say, from your heart, Jesus loves ME? Have you trusted Him as your Savior? If not, why not do it today? “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
