“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
First, the bad news…
We were created by God to live our lives in a relationship with Him, glorifying and enjoying Him forever. But our sin (the wrong things we do and right things we fail to do) prevents us from having the relationship with God for which we were created. God is perfect and holy and must remain separate from sin. There is nothing we can do on our own to remove sin from our lives and restore a right relationship with God. The penalty for our sin is death, physical and spiritual, and eternal separation from God in torment.
Now, the good news…
God loves people so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. He was born of a virgin and walked the earth as fully God and fully man. He lived the perfect life that we could never live. Then, He died on a cross in order to pay the penalty for sin that we deserve. On the third day He rose from the dead in victory over death and the grave.
Because of what Christ has done, we can have our sin taken away and have the relationship with God for which we were created. We can receive the benefit of the life He lived and the death He died. We can live in relationship with God on earth now and in heaven for all eternity. What we must do is believe in Jesus Christ. In the Bible, believing in Jesus is described in terms of repentance and faith. We must turn away from our sin and trust in who Jesus Christ is and what He has done. We must be willing to walk away from our old life and surrender ourselves totally to Jesus.
Why don’t you turn to God and commit your life to Jesus Christ now? Acknowledge your sin and ask Him to save you. Then contact us so we can help you know how to begin your life as a follower of Christ.
