IS LIFE FAIR?

When people would tell me, “That’s not fair!” I would tell them, “If you want ‘Fair’ you will have to wait until the last of September and the first of October.” That was the time of our local Fair.

Life is fair! It’s the choices we make that upset the balance. We can choose to obey God and have a relatively peaceful and joyful life. Or, we can disobey and have a miserable existence even though it may seem like we’re having fun. Sin always seems fun and pleasant to our senses. We fail to notice the slow payment drawn inside us as a result. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

We begin dying from the moment of conception. Our sins just speed up the process. You don’t believe it? Try overdosing on drugs, or get really drunk and drive a car. Someone will die! Sometimes our sins only affect us, but most of the time they affect others as well. You may think you aren’t a sinner, but God says otherwise. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12).

We say that we are not as bad as the next person, but God says: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10). That means death and Hell!

But isn’t God a God of love? Yes, He is, and I’m glad you brought that up. God doesn’t want you to go to Hell. He made a way so that you wouldn’t have to. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

God sent his only Begotten Son to pay our sin debt. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

When people choose to reject God’s gift, they choose to go to Hell. It is not God’s fault. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ or Lord (Romans 6:23).

Jesus made only one way to heaven possible. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).

How did he do this? He did it by fulfilling the gospel. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures... (I Corinthians 15:3). Long before God created everything He knew we would need a saviour. He set up the Old Testament Laws to show us what He considered to be perfect. Even back then, He set up a sacrifice for sin. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul (Leviticus 17:11). In verse 4 of I Corinthians 15 we read the remainder of the gospel, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Christ did not stay buried. On the 3rd day he came back alive from the grave. This was in fulfillment of Psalms 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Unlike all other religions, Christianity has a living Saviour to prove that His sacrifice was accepted by God.

You need to decide what you will do with Jesus. Will you accept and serve him, or continue to serve yourself and Satan? IT IS YOUR CHOICE.
