Hope

When I think of Christmas the first word I think of is Hope. Everyone needs hope. The Bible says there is a “… hope which is laid up for you in heaven” (Colossians 1:5). God made heaven for you and me. Heaven is the place where we can live forever with God. In heaven there is no pain, no sadness, no sickness and no death. Heaven is a wonderful place. When I think of Christmas I think of Heaven.

Peace

The second word that I think of at Christmas is Peace. The Bible says, “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts" (Colossians 3:15). Peace is the calm quiet feeling we have when we know we are safe and everything is ok. Sin can steal our peace. Sin is anything we think, say or do that disobeys God. Sin separates us from God and removes our peace. The Bible says, “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God does not want us to be separated from Him and has made a way to restore our peace.

Joy

The third word that means Christmas to me is Joy. The Angel said to the shepherds, “I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people” (Luke 2:10). The angel went on to tell the shepherds about Jesus. At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Jesus was born in a stable, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again from the dead, in the hope that we would have joy and peace.

Love

The last word that means Christmas to me is love. The Bible says that, “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God loves us and sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin. What will you do with God’s Christmas gift to us, His son Jesus. We can find hope, peace, joy and love when we receive God’s gift to us.

The Bible says, “As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).

To receive Jesus is as simple as A,B,C:

A—Admit that you are a sinner.

B—Believe on Jesus as Savior.

C—Choose Jesus to be your Savior.

To receive Jesus right now, pray this prayer with me: “Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner, I believe in Jesus and want Jesus to live in my heart and forgive my sin. In Jesus Name, Amen.”

Happy Birthday! Now that you have asked Jesus to be your savior you too are a child of God.

There are some things you will want to do to grow as a Christian. I suggest reading your Bible, going to church and talking to God each day. If you have questions or to find help with the decision you made, contact:
