Have a good day!

Now, just receiving this wish doesn’t guarantee our day will go smoothly. Life happens and four words can’t erase all of the difficult things we face. We’re left to ask ourselves, how can we ever truly have a good day—not only today, but every day?

A Good Day and a Good Forever

It’s hard to have a good day when we’re unsure of the future. How will I pay that bill? What will the test results show? Looking further ahead, uncertainty about death and what comes after it can also weigh on our minds. So often, we distract ourselves with things in our lives that make us happy and keep us busy.

But have you seriously considered what your future holds? Do you know where you will spend eternity? There are only two choices—Heaven or Hell. And only one of those guarantees you a good forever.

One Little Word

There is one thing that determines where we will spend our forever—our sin. Anything we say, do, or think that goes against what God wants is considered sin and separates us from Him. The Bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin will keep you from having a good forever, and it often keeps you from having a good day. God, who is holy, must punish sin. We read that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23) and that sin leads to judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Definitely not a good day!

God Provided the Way

But there is good news! Even though we are sinners, God loves us so much He has provided the way for us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, took the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross. After three days, He rose from the dead, proving these things to be true. Through His death and resurrection, we can be assured that our sins are forgiven and that we will spend forever in Heaven with Him. “Whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). What a great way to spend forever!

The Source of Good Days

Will you accept His free gift of salvation? Admit you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for your sins, and confess that He is your Lord and Savior today. Then as a believer, you will not only be sure of a good forever, you will also be able to have a good day every day. Jesus will never leave you, and the more you fellowship with Him through prayer and reading the Bible daily, the more you will experience His presence in your life.

Even if everything around you seems dark and discouraging, walking with God will let you say, “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

Trust Him today for your good forever!

¿Alguna vez te has detenido a pensar cuántas veces al día se utiliza esta frase? Ya sea que estemos en una tienda, en una cita o incluso simplemente hablando con el vecino de al lado, generalmente escuchamos:

¡Que tengas un buen día!

Sin embargo, el simple hecho de recibir este deseo no es garantía de que nuestro día continuará sin problemas. La vida transcurre y estas cinco palabras no pueden borrar todas las cosas difíciles a las que nos enfrentamos. Y nos quedamos con la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cómo podríamos realmente tener un buen día, no sólo hoy, sino todos los días?

UN BUEN DÍA Y UN BUEN PARA SIEMPRE

Es difícil tener un buen día cuando no estamos seguros del futuro. ¿Cómo pagaré esa factura? ¿Cuál será el resultado de los análisis? Cuando pensamos en el futuro, la incertidumbre sobre la muerte y lo que viene después puede causarnos preocupación. Así que a menudo nos distraemos con cosas que nos hacen felices y nos mantienen ocupados. Pero ¿has pensado seriamente en lo que te depara el futuro? ¿Sabes dónde pasarás la eternidad? Sólo hay dos opciones: el Cielo o el Infierno. Y sólo una de ellas te garantiza un buen para siempre.

UNA PEQUEÑA PALABRA

Hay una cosa que determina dónde pasaremos la eternidad: nuestro pecado. Cualquier cosa que digamos, hagamos o pensemos, que vaya en contra de lo que Dios quiere, se considera pecado y nos separa de Él. La Biblia dice que “todos pecaron y no alcanzan la gloria de Dios” (Romanos 3:23). El pecado te impedirá tener un buen para siempre, y a menudo también te impide tener un buen día. Dios, quien es santo, debe castigar el pecado. Leemos que “la paga del pecado es muerte” (Romanos 6:23) y que el pecado lleva al juicio (Hebreos 9:27). Definitivamente, ¡ése no será un buen día!

DIOS PROVEYÓ EL CAMINO

¡Pero hay buenas noticias! A pesar de que somos pecadores, Dios nos ama tanto que ha provisto el camino para que pasemos la eternidad en el Cielo con Él. La Biblia dice: “Pero Dios demuestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros” (Romanos 5:8).

Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios sin pecado, recibió el castigo por nuestros pecados al morir en la cruz. Después de tres días, resucitó de entre los muertos, demostrando que estas cosas son ciertas. A través de Su muerte y resurrección, podemos estar seguros de que nuestros pecados son perdonados y de que estaremos por siempre en el Cielo con Él. “Para que todo aquel que cree en Él, no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna” (Juan 3:16). ¡Qué gran manera de pasar la eternidad!

LA FUENTE DE LOS DÍAS BUENOS

¿Aceptarás el don gratuito de la salvación que Él te ofrece? Admite que eres un pecador, cree que Jesús murió por tus pecados, y confiesa que Él es tu Señor y Salvador, el día de hoy. Entonces, como creyente, no sólo estarás seguro de que tendrás un buen para siempre, sino que también podrás tener un buen día, todos los días. Jesús nunca te dejará, y entre más te comuniques con Él, a través de la oración y la lectura diaria de la Biblia, más experimentarás Su presencia en tu vida.

Aunque todo a tu alrededor parezca oscuro y desalentador, caminar con Dios te permitirá decir: “Este es el día que el Señor ha hecho; regocijémonos y alegrémonos en él” (Salmo 118:24).

Confía en Él hoy ¡y tendrás un buen para siempre!
