What is the most important quarter in Football?

Some say it’s the fourth, when the scoreboard finally tells the tale.

Others agree with the statistics and say it’s the first.

Many think it’s the third, and many comebacks do happen after halftime.

Fewer think it’s the second, but some say it matters the most.

The reality is this:

If you wait until the fourth quarter to play, many times it’s too little too late.

The first quarter, although it is defining,
it is not always definite or final.

The third quarter could show a new breath of life or the same failures as in the start.

And if you don’t play hard in the second quarter you miss a lot of opportunities to score.

The truth of the matter is that each quarter is as important as the others.

This is true with our lives as well. Each quarter we live in is as important as the others, for we truly don’t know how much time we have left.

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14

Don’t wait until what you think is your final quarter of life to get in the game. Give your heart to Christ while you are still young or whatever quarter you now find yourself in. You never know when the buzzer of death will sound and you will be called out before God.

A Gameplan for Life

1st Quarter - Remember any training you have had, seen or learned.

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them. Ecclesiastes 12:1

2nd Quarter - Repent of past failures.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord. Psalm 25:7

3rd Quarter - Return to what you know is right.

“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” Luke 15:18-19

4th Quarter - Rejoice in the victory you have won through Christ.

“Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9

Call out to Jesus for salvation before your
time to be saved runs out.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
