Don’t complicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The price He paid, the suffering He endured, and the victory He won for our salvation were too great. Don’t make the gift that Jesus Christ offers—the gift of eternal life—difficult or unattainable.

One of the beauties of the gospel of Jesus Christ is its simplicity. The gospel is not hard to understand. It’s the good news that Jesus Christ made forgiveness and eternal life available to EVERYONE through His death, burial, and resurrection. It’s the good news that NO ONE is excluded. The rich, the poor, the intellectual, the simple-minded, the good person, the bad person—NO ONE is left out. The gift that cost the Lord Jesus Christ His life, grants forgiveness and eternal life to ANYONE who will believe.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Believe what?

Believe the gospel that Jesus Christ died for YOUR SINS, was buried, and rose again. He did this to give you forgiveness and eternal life—to SAVE you.

“Moreover, brethren, I [Paul] declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; ² By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. ³ For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Morality CANNOT save you. Religion CANNOT save you. Intellectualism CANNOT save you. Whatever you are clinging to, it CANNOT save you. Eternal life is a gift freely given by God alone. God became flesh, dwelt among us, and willingly suffered and died to keep us from dying … to save us.

You CANNOT save yourself.

If you could, why would He have suffered and died?

“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21).

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9).

God loves you and wants you to believe that He gave His only begotten Son for you, and He asks you to call on Him, asking Him to save you.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

If you want to have eternal life:

1. Accept that you are a sinner and CANNOT save yourself.
2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ—He lived a sinless life, died for your sins, and rose from the dead for you.
3. Turn to Him, call on Him, and ask Him to save you.

Don’t complicate the gospel of Jesus Christ. God wants you to have eternal life. He loves you and invites you to receive the free gift of eternal life.
