LIVE TO DIE OR DIE TO LIVE?

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25

There are a lot of insurance companies today and a lot of people are patronizing their services, spending a fortune to ensure the security of their finances, health or material possessions. There is even a life insurance which guarantees the financial stability of loved ones after one dies.

My dear friend, I have a question for you. What about the insurance of your soul? If you die today, will your soul find rest? “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37). If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you have a spiritual emergency. Please do not delay for the word of God declares that “now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17). “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). Jesus “did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Matthew 9:13). “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Even when we try to do good and live as good citizens, it’s all as filthy rags before God because only God is righteous and He has offered us His righteousness in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. Righteousness is not a doing or an act, it is a person and His name is Jesus.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Deuteronomy 30:19b says “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”

Choose Jesus that you may live because Jesus is life. The word of God declares in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” God is good and merciful, but He is also the God of justice and He will not at all acquit the guilty. The only way to receive His forgiveness is to receive His son Jesus Christ, who took our sin upon Himself, and now offers to cover us in His righteousness. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

RECEIVE GOD’S FREE GIFT NOW

John 1:12-13 says “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven. God is Spirit and so in order for you to enter into His kingdom, you must be spiritually “born again.” Before you could enter the earth, your mother had to give birth to you physically. Likewise before you can enter God’s kingdom, He has to birth you through His Spirit in His Son, Jesus. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

REPENT AND BELIEVE

If you would like to receive God’s gift of salvation and forgiveness, turn to Him and put your trust in Jesus Christ today! You may choose to express your heart’s desire in a prayer like this:

I come to you heavenly Father, through your Son Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of your salvation. Lord Jesus, I receive you now by faith. Please forgive all my sins and live your life through me. I repent from all my sinful ways and I put my trust in you. Thank you Father for saving me in the name of Jesus. Amen.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you put your trust in Jesus Christ, you are born again and a child of the most high God. God Himself has birthed you into His kingdom. Please note your birth date in your calendar for it is worth celebrating—there is great “joy in heaven over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7).

What next?

Good question. Please pray for God to lead you to a church where you can be nurtured and grow in Him. His children have His Spirit and their steps are ordered by Him. When you visit that church, you will know that “this is the place” because you will be at peace for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Buy a Bible if you do not have one and spend time in the word of God daily, so that you can cultivate a personal relationship with Him. Ask the Holy spirit to teach you how to pray. Please feel free to talk to Him always because He is your guide.
