Reconciliation: The restoration of a broken relationship, where two parties, who were once at enmity with each other experience forgiveness,
peace and friendship.
Has your relationship with the Lord been restored?
What separates you from Him? Sin! We are born with a sinful heart and are at enmity with God.
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2
Jesus said, “for out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications [lust, pornography], thefts, false witness, blasphemies [using God’s name in vain]...” Matthew 15:19
“The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts … He has said in his heart, ‘You will not require an account.’” Psalm 10:4, 13
If we die in this state of enmity, we will receive the penalty for our sin/rebellion toward God.
“For the wages of sin is death”—an eternal separation under the wrath of God in a place called the lake of fire. Romans 6:23
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
God’s desire for you is to be reconciled to Him, and in His abundant mercy, He has provided the way.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a sinless life and offered to God a perfect sacrifice for your sin. He died in your place and was crushed under the wrath of God, which you deserve. He was buried and three days later rose victoriously over sin, death and hell.
Through Christ you can be forgiven of your sin, experience peace with God, restored to a right relationship and receive the gift of everlasting life.
“… We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20b
Will you call upon the Lord to save you?
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” Ephesians 1:7
“For you are all sons [and daughters] of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26
