We hear the word “Hell” used so frequently, it’s become almost a part of the common vocabulary! Some people, going through a really tough time in life, refer to it as “a living Hell.” Others use it as an expletive, very casually.

What is “Hell”, anyway?

We are told in God’s Word, the Bible, that Hell is a place of torment prepared by God for Satan and his demons. At one time, Satan was a beautiful angel called Lucifer, who resided in Heaven. But then, he decided that he was as powerful as God Himself and ended up getting thrown out of the heavenly portals, and he took some angels with him. Since that time long ago, Satan has worked overtime to try to get as many human beings as possible to ignore God and His Word, and to live lives of wanton pleasure, doing their own thing and following the old adage, “Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die.”

That lifestyle appeals to far too many people who live lives of self-pleasing, self-will and self-serving, regarding anything they hear about a loving God Who wants them to trust and follow Him as not worth their time or effort!

Then life ends and people who have chosen to play by their own rules find themselves in a place called Hell. We are told that Hell is dark, and fiery, and hot. And the worst thing is, there is NO escape!

Hell is for eternity!

There is no repenting or finding a “get out of jail free” card—just endless suffering and remorse for having lived a life devoid of faith in God.

There are NO air conditioners in Hell! Picture the hottest day you have experienced and multiply that by 50 times, and you still haven’t experienced Hell. AWFUL!! Who would choose to go to such a place?

God provided a way for you to avoid Hell and actually spend eternity with Him in Heaven!

The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord … is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

Over 2,000 years ago, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life on earth, and at age 33, He was condemned to death by the religious leaders who were jealous of Him! Pontius Pilate knew it was envy that drove the religious leaders to deliver Jesus to the Roman soldiers to be crucified—but as Jesus Christ hung on the cross, He took on Himself every sin of every person who has ever lived and paid the entire price for the sins of the entire world!

“For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

If you believe that Jesus Christ paid for your sin and repent of your wayward ways, ask Him in prayer for forgiveness! Jesus said in John 6:37, “…the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.” Jesus rose from the dead early that Sunday morning and was seen by more than 500 people before He ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father and ours, Jehovah God!

Please don’t wind up in Hell with Satan!
Repent and trust in Jesus Christ today!!
