‘’I love you,’’ He whispers.

“I care for you,’’ He smiles.

There is someone who cares for us, who knows our very name. You can notice Him at church, or in a person being kind, or maybe reading His word.

He never lets us down, never gives us up; He is bright like the sun and fierce like the wind. He will fight for us till He has won—even though He is distant, you can still feel Him near. In my smiling face or helping hand, you know He’s there. He sends us a Helper, one from above, to help us through this life. People may reject Him, friends may abandon Him, but He will never abandon us.

There is a true story told of how my savior and friend came to earth. He came as a baby and grew among men. He preached, loved, and healed people. People came from afar to hear Him, and Pharisees would come to sneer at Him. His friendly face captured people, the way He taught comforted people. Then one sad day He took our place and died for us, for every evil thing we’ve done. He hung on the cross and shed His blood for us. That’s how much He loved us; that’s why He’s my savior and my friend. The story’s not over yet. He rose three days after His death, to be with His Father in heaven. As He ascended, His friends looked on from afar. How majestic and awesome He looked; now He’s in heaven with His Father.

He smiles down at us. He opens wide His arms to welcome us. People who want to receive Him go to heaven to be with Him forever. Those who reject Him die in their sin and go to a very dark place called hell. The good news is that you don’t need to go there, you can receive His free gift of eternity and salvation. He will be with us all our lives.

My savior and friend is Jesus Christ.

John 1:12 - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
