When you head home from a trip you don’t just set out blindly without knowing the way. If you need to, you will either use a road map or a GPS to be sure of the way. When it comes to your eternal home, are you using the road map, the Bible, or are you just blindly going along?

On the highway near your hometown there will be one or more exits that lead to your town. You don’t want to miss those exits, but if you do miss the exit you want, you can always turn back and find an exit onto the road home.

When it comes to life there are also exits from the highway of death (sin) onto the way of life (Jesus Christ). The highway of sin leads to Hell, but John 14:6 tells us that Jesus Christ provides the only way for someone to have an eternal home in Heaven. He provides exits off of the highway of sin and those exits are opportunities to come to Christ for forgiveness of sins. We have no way of knowing how many exits we may be given. It may be as many as one hundred or more, or it could be only one. If you pass the last exit on this highway, there is no turning back. There is only death and eternal separation from God in hell, where the highway of death eventually leads if you never take advantage of the opportunity of accepting one of the heavenly exits. This may be your last exit home. Don’t pass it by without taking it. “For He says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

The Bible says:

ìFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of Godî (Romans 3:23). ìFor the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lordî (Romans 6:23).

ìFor, ëEveryone who calls on the name of the Lord will be savedíî (Romans 10:13).

ìIf you declare with your mouth, ëJesus is Lord,í and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be savedî (Romans 10:9).

Do you agree with God that you are a sinner? Do you believe that God sent His only son, Jesus Christ to die for your sins? Do you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? Do you want to accept Christ as your Savior? Then in your own words tell Him you believe, confess your sins, and ask for His forgiveness.
