If you were to die tonight do you know for certain that you would go to Heaven?
“Die tonight? Boy, you really know how to ruin a party!”
“Well, some day we’re all going to die.”
“Yuck! What a morbid thought!”
“Will I know for sure I will go to Heaven? ...Hmmm.”
“Well, I...I think so… At least I’d like to think so.”
“I don’t know if anyone can be 100% certain, can they?”
“I mean I’ve led a pretty good life.”
“Ha!”
“Obviously, I have made a few mistakes.”
“I’ll say!”
“Quit clowning around!”
“Look who’s talking!”
“But overall, I think I have done more good things than bad things.”
“Snicker! Snicker!”
“Why shouldn’t God let me in?”
“Well for starters, the Bible says…”
“There is not a righteous man on Earth, who does what is right and never sins.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
“Well that narrow things down quite a bit.”
“So, it looks like we’re all doomed!”
“...Including you, cutie.”
“Hey, we’ve all got masks we hide behind.”
“Well, we’re not all doomed, even tho’ the Bible says…”
“...All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“It also says…”
“...The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“Gift?”
“That’s right! God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us for all eternity.”
“He does?”
“But is is our sin that stands in the way of that relationship.”
“It is?”
“Knowing this, God sent His Son, Jesus, to suffer the punishment of our sins for us thru His death on a cross.”
“He did?”
‘By rising from the dead, He showed the world He conquered death for all of us for all eternity.”
“Wow!”
“So by placing our trust in Jesus to be our Savior, we can know for certain we have eternal life.”
“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11,12)
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)
“I admit my sinful life, Lord Jesus, but now I trust in You to be my Savior. Thank you for the assurance of eternal life.”
“What about you? Are you certain?”
“Hey, let me tell you what I’ve discovered!”
