How’s your security?
“I feel secure. How about you?”
In today’s world, security can take on many forms… there’s national security…
“Here! You might need this.”
“Oh goodie! Now we can buy that retirement home in Malibu.”
...Home security systems…
“That should do it.”
“Let me out of my room daddy. I have a date.”
“Any spies in here?”
“If I had just a little more, then I’d feel really secure.”
...Maximum security prisons…
“But, daddy, I have a date!”
...Then there’s the public security that comes from government regulations…
“You need a permit so you can permit me to permit your permit.”
...And of course, we can’t forget about all the security the insurance industry provide…
“You need more home owners insurance, more life insurance, more auto insurance, more health insurance, more contact lens insurance, more dental insurance, more disability insurance, more liability insurance, more…”
...Not to mention all the security precautions, security measures, security guards, security…
“Stop! Stop! I can’t take it any more!”
What’s the matter? Don’t you feel secure?
“Do I look more secure?”
“All this security is making me insecure. There’s security all around, yet inside of me there’s still no peace!”
“Isn’t there some kind of security that I can be secure in?”
How’s this? Bible says…
“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him; for He shields him all day long.” (Deuteronomy 33:12)
“The Lord? Now why didn’t I think of Him?”
Probably because your sin gets in the way.
“As it is written, there is no one righteous, not even one...For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:10, 23)
“Ooo, I see! So, how can I face Him when there is sin in my life?”
“I guess God doesn’t love me then.”
One the contrary, read this:
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Because Christ’s death on the cross pays for our sin, and His resurrection gives us new life, you don’t have to feel insecure anymore.
By trusting in Jesus, you can have the only true security knowing God and being loved by Him for all eternity.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“Lord Jesus, come into my life and be my Savior. Thank you for Your security for all eternity.”
