A Few Questions...
Can I be good enough to deserve Heaven?
“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one;’” Romans 3:10
Who has sinned?
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23
Why do we sin?
“Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—”
Romans 5:12
What is the penalty for sin?
“The wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23
In God’s sight, we are all “dead in sin.” If we trust in our own ways, rather than accepting His plan for forgiveness, we miss out and are lost. To be spiritually dead means we spend eternity in Hell, paying the just punishment for our sins, permanently lost.
Now that you understand that we are lost, here is how to get to Heaven from here!
God has paid the penalty of our sins for us!
“The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
What is our part?
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
“37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’ 38 Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’” Acts 2:37-39
“To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—” John 1:12
What now?
So now you know how to get to Heaven. The question is, will you accept the relief from God’s judgment? Why spend eternity paying for your sins in Hell? Jesus offers redemption, a new beginning. He is offering to wash away your sins and give you the promise of eternity in Heaven.
All you need to do is trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He can be your Savior because His death on the cross paid for your sins. He will be your Lord when you repent and say “Yes, I want to do your will for my life and let your Word, the Bible, be my guide, with the help of the Holy Spirit.”
Get started today by asking God to forgive your sins, putting your trust in what He has done for you. Accept Jesus as your Savior today.
Next, find a good, Bible-teaching Church that will teach you more about God.
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
