Have you ever just wondered about God?
You know, quietly to yourself. Maybe even in a way that you’d never admit to a friend, to a family member, or even to yourself. But perhaps in some innate sense you’ve felt a presence of God in your spirit. You have looked at the earth and sky and the complexity of life, and have doubts that order could spontaneously spring out of chaos. Have you ever really contemplated how this world and its ecosystem came to be?
As you read on, this tract will show a little of what God has revealed about Himself through His Word, the Bible, and that He may, in fact, be speaking to your heart even now.
The first of God’s words to the human race are found in the Bible, in the book of Genesis:
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
This may or may not make sense to you. At the same time, the premise of some cosmic explosion bringing the universe into order may not make any sense to you either. Psalm 96:10 expands on the Genesis claim of creation, saying:
“‘The Lord reigns.’ The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved …”
It is the Lord Who holds order and cohesion in His hand.
Now, if you consider God as Creator, it is reasonable to at least wonder if there is a purpose for creation. This curiosity is God speaking to you. God designed us with the ability to perceive Him in His creation. There is a profound statement made in the book of Romans:
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made …” Romans 1:20
We are so connected to God’s handiwork that it testifies to us Who God is as Creator. Acts 14:17 helps us understand this a bit more clearly, as it tells us:
“Yet He has not left Himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”
God is not a Creator that merely gave life to us. He desires a relationship with us.
It’s a lot to think of, or fathom, or even ponder. The author of Psalm 8:3-4 felt the same way:
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
He is mindful of man because man is the affection of God.
God loves you!
God isn’t merely loving, He is, in fact, Love. 1 John 4:7-8 says:
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
Do you love? If so you have an inherent sense of the Creator. And as such, God sets His desire on you, as one who is a father. He desires a relationship with you. That relationship is set in motion when we respond to God. 1 Timothy 2:4 says:
Our Savior God “wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
God has made provision for us to access Him through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus.
Jesus made atonement for our sins. He bore our sins on a Roman cross when He died. He was entombed and on the third day, God raised Him from the dead. His resurrection is confirmation that this payment for sin was sufficient, and anyone who repents and comes to Jesus Is justified (“Just-As-Not-Sinned”).
Here is what Jesus said in John 4:14,
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
This simply means that by putting your faith in Jesus, death can no longer hold you, as it could not hold Him.
God is drawing you to Himself. will you respond to him and put your trust in Jesus Christ?
Jesus said, “When I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:32
He was lifted on that cross for you. Now, He is drawing you. Come! Ask God in faith, to receive you as His child.
