DID YOU KNOW…
24% of women in the U.S. will have an abortion by age 451
862,000 abortions performed in the U.S. in 20172
18.4% of pregnancies (just under one in five) ended in abortion in 20173
345,000 abortions by Planned Parenthood in 2018-20194
OUR PURPOSE…
Why publish and distribute a pamphlet about abortion? Our purpose is three-fold: to expose the truth about abortion, to preach the gospel (God’s message of new life), and to offer help to people at places where babies are murdered.
We hold to the Bible as the ultimate standard for truth (John 17:17). God’s truth is in collision with the prevailing ideals of the culture. In light of God’s word, abortion is sin of national scale.
God sees abortion as the premeditated taking of life with malice aforethought—FIRST DEGREE MURDER. It’s time to put a stop to abortion.
“Deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it?and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?” —Proverbs 24:11-12
MEET CHARLIE…
This is a picture of four-year-old Charlie. When he was being formed in his mom’s womb, she could have had an abortion and never met her little boy... but thankfully she didn’t. Instead, she carried Charlie to term and welcomed him into the world at birth. Today, Charlie is 18 years old. He is now a college student studying to someday be a pilot. If Charlie’s mom had gotten an abortion, we never would’ve had the joy of meeting him. This could be your baby....
COMMON OBJECTIONS…
Here are some of the most common objections to abortion clinic ministry and our answers...
A woman has a choice since it’s her body.
This begs the question, “a woman has a choice to do what?” No matter how much we refer to it as “emptying of the uterus” or the “termination of a pregnancy” the choice equates to babies being murdered. We must realize that God doesn’t give us a choice, but a command, “thou shalt not murder.”
Christians can’t judge the views of others.
This statement is a judgment. It’s not a matter of who is judging but which judgment is right, there is no neutrality. We hold to scripture as our authority.
It’s justified if the child will have a bad life.
This begs the question, “are we to dispose of the elderly and handicapped?” As Christians, we see that all human life has value, including life in the womb. The fact that life is tough does not justify murder. Should you have died to avoid hardships?
It’s perfectly legal to have an abortion.
The fact something it is legal and safe doesn’t make it right. Slavery was once legal. All legal issues are moral issues, and murdering babies is not moral.
If it were made illegal, it would still happen.
The objection is that if abortion were criminalized, women would still have procedures done in unsafe settings. Child molestation still happens, so are we to give molesters safe clinics to practice their crime?
It’s not a baby, it’s a fetus.
The word fetus is Latin for “small child, offspring.” This objection is really an obfuscation commonly used to de-humanize the baby. Terms such as fetus, infant, toddler, teenager, adult, and senior citizen are used to describe humans at their respective point of development. We must realize that pregnant women are already mothers, and as mothers, they do not have the right to commit murder, according to God.
These clinics provide other services, too.
The Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz, where millions of humans were slaughtered, also provided meals, jobs, and a place to sleep. Do we disregard the fact that humans are systematically murdered at a rate of about 1 every 37 seconds in the U.S. alone?
GOD’S MESSAGE OF NEW LIFE
“Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” —Psalm 139:13-14
God intimately and intricately creates every one of us in the womb. Job 31:15 says God fashioned us in the womb. Ecclesiastes 11:5 and Isaiah 44:24 teach that the growth of bones in the womb is a work of God. It is God who creates and gives life to babies at the point of conception.
God knows his plan for our lives before we are even born (Judges 13:5; Jeremiah 1:5). And Psalm 127:3-5 reveals that children are to be viewed as a blessing from the Lord.
The first chapter of the Bible says that God created mankind in his image (Genesis 1:26-27). As image-bearers of God, we all have inherent worth, value, and dignity.
“Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man” —Genesis 9:6
Because of the value God places on human life, the Lord considers murder a capital crime (Matthew 5:21). God gives us not a choice, but a command—“Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17). And since abortion is taking another human’s life, it is murder.
“Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed … is this … a small matter, that thou hast slain my children?” —Ezekiel 16:20-21
Is it a small matter that the babies whom God fashions in the womb are murdered every day? It is estimated that nearly one million innocent babies who bear the image of Almighty God are murdered every year in the U.S. alone. Is this a small matter?
In the Old Testament, God condemned child sacrifices (2 Kings 16:3; Deuteronomy 12:31; Psalm 106:37-38; Jeremiah 19:3-6) and called this practice an abomination. Is it a small matter that we sacrifice hundreds of thousands of babies to selfishness and convenience?
“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood” —Isaiah 59:1-3
Our society is defiled with the blood of the innocent. This is the result of a culture that has rejected GOD. The Bible tells us we are at war with God and unable to please him because of our sin (Romans 8:7-8). Our sin earns us death: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Left to ourselves, our end is destruction.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”
—John 10:10
Jesus came to offer us new life through his own innocent blood that was poured out. Jesus came to earth, lived a life without sin, and allowed himself to be put to death to take the judgment for humanity’s sin against God. Christ died not just for the sin of abortion, but for all your sin. We care about you very much, and we are eager for you to know God’s great love through Jesus Christ.
“For [GOD] hath made [Jesus Christ] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” —2 Corinthians 5:21
If you would like to experience God’s forgiveness by trusting Christ’s death on the cross for you, you can call out to God in repentance and faith right now. Simply pray to God and tell him that you know you are a sinner, you believe that Jesus took the judgment for your sin, and you now ask for his forgiveness. He will hear you!
