Some time ago, a radio preacher announced that the following Sunday he would speak on “Heaven.” During the following week a beautiful letter was received from an old man who was very ill, and the following is part of that letter:

ìNext Sunday you are to talk about Heaven. I am interested in that land, because I have held a clear title to a bit of property there for over 55 years. I did not buy it. It was given to me without money and without price. But the Donor purchased it for me at tremendous sacrifice. I am not holding it for speculation since the title is not transferable. It is not a vacant lot.

ìFor more than half a century I have been sending materials out of which the greatest Architect and Builder of the universe has been building a home for me which will never need to be repaired because it will suit me perfectly, individually, and will never grow old. Termites can never undermine its foundations, for they rest upon the Rock of Ages. Fire cannot destroy it. Floods cannot wash it away. No locks nor bolts will ever be placed upon its doors, for no vicious person can enter that land where my dwelling stands, now almost completed and almost ready for me to enter in and abide in peace eternally, without fear of being ejected.

ìThere is a valley of deep shadows between the place where I live in California and that to which I shall journey in a very short time. I cannot reach my home in that City of Gold without passing through this dark valley of shadows. But I am not afraid, because the best Friend I ever had went through the same valley long, long ago and drove away all its gloom. He has stuck by me through thick and thin since we first became acquainted 55 years ago, and I hold His promise in printed form, never to forsake me or leave me or leave me alone.

I hope to hear your sermon on Heaven next Sunday, but I have no assurance that I shall be able to do so. My ticket to Heaven has no date marked for the journeyóno return coupon. Yes, I am all ready to go and I may not be here while you are talking next Sunday evening, but I shall meet you there some day.î

Just think of stepping on shore and finding it Heaven! Of touching a hand and finding it God’s. Of breathing new air and finding it celestial. Of feeling invigorated and finding it immortality. Of passing from storm and tempest to an unknown calm. Of waking up in glory and finding it home!

Take courage, weary Christian, for Heaven is just ahead. David rightly said, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). Jesus said concerning Heaven: “In My Father’s house are many mansions … I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). John wrote: “They shall see His face … there shall be no night there … they shall reign forever and ever (Revelation 22:4,5).

You may be one who is reading this leaflet and who has never known the joys of sins forgiven or the assurance of a home in Heaven. There is hope for you. Our Lord Jesus Himself said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (John 5:24).

You could never enter Heaven as you are, for we must all be “born again.” It was Jesus who said: “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). When asked how one may be born again, Jesus said: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

To get your clear title to Heaven, you must trust Jesus as your personal Saviour. Confess your sins to Him, believing He died for you and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3,4).
