A person is drawn unto God by the working of the Holy Spirit. He does this by showing the sinner the error of their way. He reveals the worthlessness found in the pleasure of sin for a season. Then, He reveals the helplessness of self-reformation. Finally, through the light of the Gospel, He presents mankind’s only hope—salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is a dangerous thing to have these truths revealed unto you and to reject God’s promise of love, mercy and forgiveness. Unfortunately, many realize their lost condition, but admit they are not ready or willing to give up their sin. Their failure to repent—to turn from their sin and to the Saviour—is what keeps them in sin’s bondage. “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). It’s not that a person must clean themselves up in order to be saved, but rather they must be willing to give themselves wholly unto the Lord.

When the choice is being made and the sinner decides to wait because they are not willing to give up their sin, they need to ask themselves a very important question: Is that sin—no matter what it might be—worth going to hell for? What sin is so fun, so enticing, or alluring that you would continue in it instead of following the Lord? They do this even while knowing their next breath could very well be their last. Jesus asked this question concerning the value of one’s soul: “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26).

If you would sit down before you go to sleep tonight and write a list of sins that you would be willing to spend eternity in hell for, what would be on your list?
I _______________ would be willing to spend eternity in hell for ______________________________________ .

Many would never write it on a list, but their actions speak louder than their unwritten words. I personally have been told such things as alcohol, drugs, fornication, homosexuality, revenge and even gambling or the love of money. The sin that ultimately sends a person to hell is their rejection of Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. However, if these things mentioned (or whatever might be written on your personal list) are what causes you to reject His forgiveness and salvation, then ask yourself if they are really worth it. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

The truth of the matter is that nothing is worth going to hell over. I believe most people truly know this more than they admit, but put off to a later time the most important decision of their lives. Sadly, hell is filled with those who waited too late to repent. Signing your name or writing your sin on this tract will not doom you to hell, but refusing to repent will! Repent of your sin and call out to God for forgiveness while there is still time. “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).

Call out to Him while He is drawing you to Himself. You will never regret it or miss anything you give up to receive Him. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
