IS THERE LIFE AFTER DEATH?

This question has crossed everyone’s mind at one time or another. It’s no surprise that according to recent data from the General Social Survey (GSS) nearly 85% of people living in the U.S. believe there is an afterlife in a concept such as heaven. If we do believe in an afterlife, most of us believe if we are good people, believe in God, go to church, practice a religion, or our good deeds outweigh our bad deeds at our end here, we will make it there. This makes logical sense comparing ourselves to one another on Our terms, but it’s NOT on our terms we get there, BUT on God’s terms, it’s His heaven.

THE PROBLEM

If we examine ourselves, we know we are basically good people but we also know we are not perfect. This is not a problem to you and I, BUT it is to an unchangeable Holy, Just, Righteous and Perfect God who has the final decision on our afterlife.

THE BAD NEWS

We are not perfect because we have ALL broken God’s commandments in thought, word, and deed. If we enter the afterlife with this problem of SIN, God needs to charge us Guilty for it. The SIN you committed is severe to God and it has “SEPARATED” You from Him. Because it is appointed once for man to die and after this comes the true judgment, God, the Just Judge, must condemn the guilty for breaking His commandments…… so you, me, and everyone are in serious trouble. This is BAD NEWS.

THE GOOD NEWS

Because God is also unchangeably Love, Gracious, Merciful, Compassionate and Kind, God does not want to have to judge you Guilty and punish you for your Sins. So what does God choose to do about Your serious problem, a problem ONLY HE can solve for You?

GOD’S GREAT PROVISION FOR YOU!

In God’s Love For You, God became a man of flesh and blood (MERRY CHRISTMAS) like you But WITHOUT Sin in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus, the eternal Christ/Messiah, the perfect God Man, lived a perfect righteous life obeying all the commandments and laws of God on YOUR behalf, something impossible for you to ever do. Because your Sin debt MUST be paid for, Jesus willingly went to the cross to pay your Sin debt. On the cross, GOD treated Jesus, His innocent beloved Son, as Guilty, and was pleased to inflict His wrath, curse, and damnation on him condemning Jesus for YOUR Sins thus satisfying His Justice, not compromising His Holiness, and demonstrating His LOVE FOR YOU!

WHAT NOW?

Believing what God did for you. Repenting of your Sins, confessing you sinned against God, BELIEVING IN YOUR HEART Jesus Christ personally died paying for Your Sins and was raised from the dead, BY FAITH ALONE in Jesus ALONE, God will save and rescue you from judgment and penalty. GOD could now give YOU eternal life as a gift because your guilt and Sins were transferred to Jesus and Jesus’ sinless perfection was transferred to YOU! This free gift you don’t deserve or could ever earn by your good works or deeds! WHAT LOVE, WHAT GREAT NEWS!

My friend, please think. On judgment day, God does not want to judge you guilty for your Sins. God was first to take the initiative showing you how much HE LOVES YOU in the death of His Son. Don’t reject God’s Love For You! God pleads, in His Love For You, be “RECONCILED” to Him and enter His heaven on His terms by accepting and following “GOD’S GREAT PROVISION FOR YOU…….JESUS CHRIST !”

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:16-17)
