GOD Loves You! Please don’t turn your back…
This is the message which we have heard of Jesus Christ and declare unto you: God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (see 1 John 1:5). Darkness comes from sin. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
The Bible tells us that “The wages of sin is death,” meaning that we are spiritually separated from God. “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4). Jesus is the light of the world: he that follows Him shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life (see John 8:12). Jesus came to save us from our sins and has laid down His life for us. “God made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus died on a cross, but three days later, God raised Him from the dead. He is alive today, and He wants to have fellowship with you, but not if you hold on to your sins. Jesus preached that all should repent, “for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2). (To repent is to reject sin and turn towards God.)
Some might say, “I have been good all my life,” but the Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). And, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Jesus also said in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” This is not speaking about religion, but about a relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father; most religion is from men, and not of God. Religion today is mainly man’s idea on how to win favor with God. Only through Jesus can we be pleasing to God.
Salvation is a gift from God!
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9).
The Bible also tells us, “That in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts” (Galatians 5:22-24).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
(John 3:16).
The choice is yours.
“The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” (Romans 10:8-11).
So, how can we turn our backs on God, the One who loves us so much?
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1 John 4:7-8).
