Dear Friend,

How are you? I would like to share with you how much God loves you! He cares about your eternity and wants you to have the gift of everlasting life. The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The Bible also says in Romans 6:23 that “the gift of God is eternal life.” Do you know how long eternal life is? For eternity!

God wants to give you: salvation, forgiveness of all your sins (past, present, and future), salvation from going to Hell and the eternal punishment of your sins. This also means your name is written in the book of life and you can have a citizenship and a home in Heaven someday. God wants to give you all of these things and more because He loves you. Life is short because of sin, but the gift of God is everlasting and eternal life that cannot be lost, and best of all, it is free. You don’t have to pay for it to receive it. Do you want this gift of God?

To receive this free gift, there are few things you need to know and understand:

1. Understand that you are a sinner.

The Bible says in Psalm 51:5, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” We also read that “there is none righteous, no not one ... for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10,23). In 1 John 1:8 we read, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” All have sinned. No sinner is allowed in Heaven. No one is good enough, nor righteous enough to go to Heaven. All of our good works—going to church, helping the poor, being nice, doing penitence, etc.—are not enough. They fall short of getting us eternal life. To receive God’s gift of eternal life, you must humble yourself and acknowledge that you are a sinner.

2. Understand that sin has consequences, wages, penalties and punishments.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23 that “the wages of sin is death.” Death came into the world because of sin. People die because of sin. When a sinner dies, there is only one of the two places that he will go: Heaven or Hell. Friend, Heaven and Hell are real. Matthew 10:28 says, “Fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.” Mark 9:43,44 says that Hell has “fire that never shall be quenched, where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Revelation 20:14,15 says that “death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” We also read that those who are in the lake of fire shall be “tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). The Bible lists the kind of sinners that deserve the lake of fire. It says, “But the fearful, the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8). God is holy and Heaven is a holy place and no sinner, even a liar, is allowed in. Sin has consequences and punishments including death, Hell and the lake of fire. The bad news is that we are all sinners. We sin by our thoughts, words and actions. We don’t deserve Heaven—we deserve death, Hell and the lake of fire.

3. Know that Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God commended His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Friend, know that God loves you. He sent His only begotten Son to pay for the wages of your sins by shedding His blood and dying on the cross. Jesus died for your sins so you won’t have to pay for them someday. He died, was buried, and rose again from the grave for you.

You can never “repay” the Lord Jesus for what He has done, but there are things He wants you to do:

One: Believe on the Lord Jesus.

The Bible says in Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” Jesus said, “He that heareth My word and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24). He also said, “He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47). John 6:39-40 says, “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” This is the will of God, that you believe in Jesus Christ and be saved.

God’s way of salvation is through faith in His Son. To believe in His Son, put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Messiah, the Christ, who in the beginning was God, and is God. Jesus became flesh, became a man born of a virgin, and lived a righteous life without sin. He took your place, was nailed to the cross and to pay for your sins. He was buried, but rose again from the dead on the third day.

To believe in Jesus means to put your faith in Him as your only Savior and to trust Him alone for eternal salvation. He is the only way to God the Father in Heaven. Jesus did the work of shedding sinless blood for the remission of sin. He died, rose again, and ascended back to Heaven to prepare a mansion for you in His Father’s house. He is coming back for you someday. To believe in Jesus is to turn away from trusting idols and false gods, and from trusting in yourself—in your own good deeds and works of righteousness. To believe in Jesus is to believe salvation is a free gift that you cannot lose. Once you are saved, you receive eternal life and are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13 says, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”

No man can pluck you out of the Lord Jesus’ hand or from the Father’s hand. Nothing can separate you from Him. Jesus said in John 10:28, “And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.” There are other verses in the Bible that tell you that salvation is a free gift of God, given to those who believe and put their faith in the Lord Jesus. It is not by the good works that we do, but it is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. Read and study Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 6:23, 1 John 5:11, and John 4:10. Friend, eternal life does not begin when you die. It begins the moment you believe and put your faith in the Lord Jesus, calling on His name.

Two: God wants you to put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus into words and action. How do you do this? By confessing His name and calling upon it. The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” We also read that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Friend, salvation and eternal life are free gifts from God. To receive them, you need these 3 things:

1. Humility.

Acknowledge that you are a sinner not fit for Heaven, but deserving of Hell. Confess that you are a sinner, you cannot save yourself nor pay the wages of your sins. You deserve death, Hell and the lake of fire.

2. Faith.

Believe that Christ died to pay for your sins and pay the ransom for your soul so you won’t have to go to Hell. Believe God loves you so He sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, to pay for your salvation. Jesus died on the cross for your sins, He was buried, but on the third day He rose again from the dead.

3. Direct confession and prayer.

He wants you to call out to Him in prayer and ask Him directly. Romans 10:13 says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you really believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for you, and put your trust in Him as the only One who can give you salvation and eternal life, you would call on His name, asking for the gift of eternal life. Ask and it will be given, because although this gift is offered to everyone, it is only given to those who believe and humbly ask and pray directly to Jesus Christ. You don’t need priests, mediums, mediatrix, rituals and hocus pocus ceremonies or a special place to come to the Lord Jesus. You can come to Him anywhere or anytime, even right now. He invites people to come to Him and ask so He can give them rest from trying to save themselves. He said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden...”.

You can directly pray and confess your need for forgiveness, salvation and eternal life to the Lord. Let me help you form a prayer and make it your own. Confess with your mouth, “Dear Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe You love me. I believe You died for me, I believe You were buried and rose again from the dead on the third day. I trust in You and in Your words preserved in the Holy Bible. Today, I put my faith and my trust in You as my only Savior and my only way to Heaven. Please forgive all of my sins and give me eternal life. Please take me to Heaven when I die. Thank You for Your love and grace to me. Amen.”

Friend, God sees the heart and answers sincere prayer. If He sees your faith in His Son, when you ask, you shall receive because He promised eternal and everlasting life. God’s word in Titus 1:2 says, “In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Friend, God cannot lie. What He says and promises, He will do. If He says to believe, believe—it’s faith. When He says it is eternal and everlasting life, it is eternal and everlasting life— not temporary and probationary life. When He says it is a gift, it means it is a gift, you don’t have to pay for it because Jesus Christ already paid for it with His own blood, death, burial and resurrection.

Please consider God’s gift of salvation and eternal life. Don’t delay. Get right with God now. Call on the Lord now. Your soul is at stake. Be saved now and forever. Make the simple prayer above your own prayer and pray it sincerely to the Lord Jesus. Seek and love truth. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. He alone deserves your faith and loyalty. Read the Bible, it is God’s Word and our manual and instructions for life.

May God bless you with humility, faith, and salvation and lead you to a church that preaches from the Bible and teaches salvation by God’s grace alone thru faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, and help you grow in your faith and in the Lord and in the Word of God because faith in the Lord Jesus comes “by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
