The God Who created you loves you.
“Early Creation Morning,
God You hung the stars and moon.
You put the atoms into motion.
You taught this world just how to turn.
You caused the flowers to bloom and the birds to sing Your praise.
How could anyone deny it.
Your love is in this place.
I look around in this world,
and Your glory faces me.
Your touch is in everything I see.
The flower, deer, and sparrow
are all by Your design.
Without your awesome touch,
Lord they’d never be alive.”
Many years ago (1998), I was walking across a secular college campus. I had just walked out of my science class where I had politely debated my professor on the truth of the Word of God and this beautiful world God had created for us. As I was walking under trees I remember looking up and thinking, “How can they not see You? How can they not feel You? Your touch is in everything I see.” I went to bed in my dorm room that night praying, and this is what Holy Spirit woke me with in the early morning hours: talk about a stolen identity. We are all created by the Most High God—Elohim our Creator God. If that truth is stolen from us, we lose everything.
Genesis 1:1 is the first Bible verse I teach every child in any classroom I’m in. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” John 1:1-3 is my next focus. “In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Though Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”
Created by our loving God, mankind chose to walk away in sin and rebellion. We have all sinned in one way or another. Romans 3:23 is very accurate in saying we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In Romans 6:23, we are reminded that the wages of that sin is death. But there is good news! Our loving Creator God had a plan. The rest of Romans 6:23 says, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The good news is the truth of the Gospel. Jesus Christ came to save us and set us free from our sin. He calls us to repentance and faith by following Him.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved … Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 3:16 says, “For God [Father God] so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ—God the Son, made flesh] that whoever believes in Him [Jesus] shall not perish but have eternal life.”
1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
In other words, He makes all things new—gives us a fresh start and a new beginning. In Christ, we are a new creation—we are born again. Through repentance we turn away from sin and turn in full trust and faith, believing in Him.
Long story short—the God who created you loves you!
Jesus, who was in Heaven with God the Father from eternity past, chose to come to this earth He created. His handiwork is all over this place. His presence is very evident, even now, through the Holy Spirit. In His amazing love and perfect grace, Jesus came to earth, as a man and yet fully God. Why? To sacrifice His life for our sins and die in our place. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the only way back to God the Father—back to our Creator and Lord. This world is now stained with sin, death, and darkness, but there will come a day when we will truly come to realize what it means when Jesus said He came to make all things new.
He lived and then died on the cross to save us. He rose back to life again after three days, then later ascended to Heaven, sitting at the right hand of God the Father and interceding for us. John 14 tells us He has a place prepared for us. Are you going? Will you surrender your all to Him? Will you repent and trust Him?
This world around us—the flowers, the birds, the sky, the stars, the trees, the mountains, the oceans, the fields—He made for us. Even with its sin scars, it is so magnificent and beautiful beyond words. But none of this will even compare to the treasures He has laid up in store for those who love Him.
