There are several sources of pain and suffering in this life.
Some examples include cancer, being injured in a road accident, poverty and there are many more.
Thankfully treatment is available for cancer, surgery is available for injuries from a road accident and charities and government assistance can help those living in poverty.
However, if you die in your sins, you will enter into a place called Hell according to the Bible: “the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments” (Luke 16:22-23). This is a place of pain and suffering. Once a person enters into Hell, there are no ways of leaving and there are no ways of relieving the pain. The Bible describes Hell as a place “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44).
How does a person end up in Hell?
GOD is Holy and he cannot allow sin to enter into his presence In Heaven. We are born into this world sinners, with hearts that are “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9).
But despite our sinful nature and behaviour, God loves us.
He has demonstrated “his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
The Lord Jesus Christ bore “our sins in his own body on the tree” (1 Peter 2:24).
Before the Lord Jesus died, the Saviour said, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
The Lord Jesus exhausted the wrath of GOD against sin.
God, being satisfied with the work of the Lord Jesus, raised him from the dead on the third day.
The saviour is alive in Heaven and he desires to save you.
This is where your responsibility comes in.
Friend, I strongly urge you to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).
If you choose to reject the Lord Jesus, you will end up in Hell and eventually the Lake of fire for eternity.
