If you died today, do you know that you would go to heaven?
Here are the ABC’s of salvation
1. Admit that you are a sinner
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Everyone is a sinner.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
We must agree with what God says about our sins in the Bible. Admitting that you are a sinner is the first step of repentance. Turning from sin and self to God is the next step.
2. Believe in Jesus
Because we are all sinners we are under the penalty of sin.
“The wages [payment] of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life.” (Romans 6:23)
Jesus died on the cross for our sins and arose victorious over death and sin. He offers the gift of salvation to you today. He did that, because He loves you.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
3. Confess your faith in Jesus
Believing in Jesus is more than just knowing that Jesus died for you; it is committing yourself to Christ.
Tell Jesus that you know you have sinned and ask Him to forgive you. Tell Him you want Him to live in you and you want to serve Him.
“For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
After you have put your trust in Jesus Christ, tell others about your decision. At the end of the worship service, during the invitation time, tell the Pastor that you have trusted Christ as your Savior and you want to follow Him in believer’s baptism by immersion.
It is God’s will not only that you be saved, but that you know for certain that you have been saved. Read your Bible daily and pray.
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)
