The question is not, “Do you believe in Jesus Christ?” The question is,

“WHY DO YOU NEED JESUS CHRIST?”

There are a lot of people who believe in Jesus Christ who have yet to see their NEED for Him. Jesus made that clear in Matthew 7:21-23:

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?”

And then will I declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”

According to Christ Himself, there will be a multitude of people with good intentions who will never enter Heaven’s gates. This is because they have never seen their NEED for Him.

Jesus said in Luke 5:31-32,

And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well [or, self-righteous] have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous [or, self-righteous] but sinners to repentance.

Until a person sees him/herself as being “sinfully” sick, he/she will never see their NEED for the Savior. Our problem is not in what we do before God, but in what we are before God. We are sinners in NEED of the Savior!

WHY DO WE NEED THE SAVIOR?

Romans 3:10 says,

As it is written, “None is righteous, no, not one.”

According to the Word of God, the reason we NEED a Savior is that no one is good enough to save himself. Though some religions teach salvation by works, the fact remains that no one can save himself. We NEED the Savior!

WHY IS NO ONE GOOD ENOUGH?

Romans 3:23 says,

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

According to God’s word, the reason no one is good enough to earn Heaven on his own merits is that we have all sinned. We are sinners by birth, by nature, by practice, and by choice. Truly, we NEED the Savior!

WHAT IS GOD’S PRICE ON SIN?

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death…

Jesus said in Luke 12:4-5,

I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

According to God, the penalty for being a sinner is death and death is two-fold. We will die once physically and a second time spiritually.

WHAT IS GOD’S WAY OUT?

Romans 5:8

God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The only worthy payment for sin and its penalty (hell) is the precious blood of Christ. Christ (God) came to this earth in the form of a man, yet did not sin as we have. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Once we realize our need, all you or I must do to gain forgiveness and redemption is simply go to the One who paid for our salvation and ask Him to save us!

HOW CAN I BE SAVED?

Romans 10:13

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Admit to God that you’re a sinner (Romans 3:23).

Admit to God that your sin has separated you from Him — this is why you NEED the Savior (Romans 6:23).

Believe that Christ died (paid) for your sins (Romans 5:8).

Ask Christ to save you and take you to Heaven one day to be with Him (Romans 10:13).

Simply take God at His word and claim His promise for your salvation. Bow your head right now and sincerely ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and save your soul.
