... you had untold riches?

"Meet our new super jackpot lottery winner!"

... you were incredibly handsome?

"I can't wait until tomorrow."

"Why is that?"

"I get better looking every day."

... you were world famous?

"Oh, my fans! My adoring fans!"

... you were the most powerful person on earth?

"I don't know how he does it. You ask him.

... you were the smartest person alive?

"You found a cure for the common cold?"

"I did it on my lunch break."

The answer is ... no! These things won't make you happy. One reason is, you'd discover it's hard to find people you can trust."

"I think these people just like us for our money, Herb."

"There is more to me than just a pretty face."

"Can't you people leave me alone? You don't really care about me."

"When I'm out of office, will any of these people be my friends?"

"This is all so meaningless!"

That's exactly what King Solomon said! 3,000 years ago he was the richest, most powerful, and wisest person on the earth, and he said (in the Bible) ...

"Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun." Ecclesiastes 2:11

It doesn't matter the dream, whether big or small, these things alone will not make you happy.

"But I don't need to be rich. I'd just be happy if I could get out of debt."

"And I'd be happy if I could just pass this test Friday."

"I'd be happy if these pimples would clear up."

It is possible to be content whatever the circumstances.

"Even with pimples?"

"I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Philippians 4:11,12

"Contentment? What is the secret?"

"I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ." Philippians 3:8

The Bible also says ...

"God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"God loves me?"

You see, God made us and loves us but the bad things we do, our sins, stand in the way of having a relationship with Him. By Christ having died for our sins (and then raising from the grave) we can have that relationship restored.

"My sins stands in the way?"

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." 1 Peter 3:18

"Christ died for my sin?"

By placing your total trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you can begin this relationship with God and enjoy Him for all eternity.

"That sure beats winning the lottery!"

"Dear Lord, thank you for sending your Son to die on the cross for me. I now turn from my sin and place my trust in your Son, Jesus, to save me. Amen."
