It seems the world is getting worse every day. We hear so much bad news, so much instability around the world, and so much division among the people.
What is going on?
The Bible tells us all about the history and destiny of humanity. The Bible also warns us,
“In the last days there will come times of difficulty.” 2 Timothy 3:1
Instead of worshiping the glorious God, many claim to be wise without Him and have become fools. Instead of believing the truth about God, they deliberately choose to believe lies. And so, God gives them up; He lets them go ahead into every kind of vile sexual sin and everything their evil minds can think to do. And even though they are aware of God’s death penalty for their sins, they do it anyway, encouraging others to do the same (see Romans 1 in your Bible).
I believe we may be living in these last days, and what we’re seeing in our world today could be a prelude to the seven-year tribulation period. This is described as a time when God will pour out His wrath on a Christ-rejecting world, causing the majority of the world’s population to perish. And as terrifying as that time will be, it’s not the worst thing that could happen to a person. The worst thing is to be eternally separated from God because we refuse to repent. Everyone needs to repent, because,
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
The good news is that God loves you, and you can receive Him as your Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us that God is,
“Not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
God has paid the price by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place and take on the judgment for sin that should have been ours. As a result, we repent—sincerely admitting and turning away from our sin, humbling ourselves and surrendering to the will and service of God, and trusting in Jesus and His sacrificial death alone for our salvation.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
