Was Jesus a liar?
Do you believe Jesus was a liar?
Would you be willing to say it out loud?
Some people believe Jesus was a liar.
Some believe Jesus was a good man.
Some say Jesus was a prophet.
Others think Jesus was only a teacher and a philosopher, like Socrates or Buddha, or one of the ancient oriental masters.
But, was Jesus a liar?
What is your opinion?
If you believe Jesus was a liar, how strongly do you believe it?
Jesus said he was the Son of God.
What do you think? Was Jesus the Son of God?
Because if Jesus wasn’t the Son of God, then most definitely, he was a liar.
Jesus said he would be killed, and after three days and three nights in the grave he would come back to life.
Do you think Jesus came back to life after he was dead in the grave three days and three nights?
Because if Jesus did not come back to life after three days and three nights in the grave, then he really was a liar.
If Jesus was a liar, then he was nothing more than a lying historical figure.
Do you not find it amazing that a dead liar can cause so very much commotion today, in our highly educated and highly technical world?
I wonder how many millions of Christians there are in the world—all of them believing that Jesus died for their sins, that he was buried, and that he rose from the dead on the third day.
If Jesus was a liar, then that would certainly make all Christians foolish. Actually, it would make them fools.
But it still leaves a very great mystery
Why are so many people offended by a liar who has been rotting in a grave in Israel for two thousand years?
Do you understand it? Can you explain it?
If Jesus is a lying Jewish teacher who has been dead for 2000 years, why would anyone see the need to silence his message?
Why be offended by a lying dead guy?
Why ban his book from schools? Why not ban all mythology books from schools? Why only ban the Jesus mythology book? Why not make a rule so people cannot pray to Zeus or Buddha or Allah?
If Jesus was not who he said he was, then he was a liar.
And, if Jesus was a liar, then the things he mentioned about Heaven and Hell would certainly have to be lies, as well.
He said, he would return at the end of the age and judge the entire world. He also said that all who believe that he was killed and buried and raised from the dead on the third day would have everlasting life.
He also said that those who did not believe it would be cast into a Lake of Fire, which is called the “second death.” He said the fire in this lake would never be quenched and that the soul would never die there. He said souls in this fiery lake live on and on forever and ever in flames of torment.
Of course, if Jesus was indeed a liar, the everlasting fire would be of no concern.
On the other hand:
IF JESUS WAS NOT A Liar.
If Jesus really was the Son of God, if Jesus really did die for the sins of all mankind, really was buried, and really did raise from the dead on the third day:
What then? Here is what then
All who believe in Jesus, he gives them power to become the sons of God.
All who believe in Jesus, he has promised everlasting life.
All who believe in Jesus, he has promised to bathe them with his Spirit.
All who believe in Jesus, he has promised they would suffer persecution, and they will be hated by the world.
All who believe in Jesus, he has promised great eternal rewards if they are willing to commit their lives to the service of expanding his kingdom.
All who believe in Jesus, he has promised that he will never leave them nor forsake them.
All who love Jesus, he has promised that He will make Himself known to them during their life time here on earth.
Are you ready to believe?
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and
If you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and
If you believe that Jesus Christ was buried, and
If you believe that on the third day He rose from the dead, then
I encourage you to make the following prayer of confession to God:
Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son.
I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins.
I believe that he was buried and that on the third day he rose from the dead.
I also believe your promise that you will save everyone who calls on you if they believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ.
I ask you to save me now.
Thank you, Father, for saving me.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
If you truly believe that Jesus died for your sins, and if you honestly believe that He was raised from the dead, then you are now one of God’s children. Your spirit is born into God’s family.
What should you do now?
Seek out other believers like yourself. Ask God to guide you to the believers He would like you to associate with. He has a place for you. Trust the Spirit of God who is now living inside of you.
Find a Bible, and read it as much as you can. The Bible is spiritual food. Your spirit needs spiritual food in the same way your body needs natural food.
Read the book of John first. It is the 4th book in the New Testament. Also, read the book of 1st John; you will find it near the back of the Bible.
Also, be sure to show the world that you are a follower of Jesus Christ by getting baptized and telling others what Jesus has done for you. God Bless.
