THIS TRACT CONTAINS THE CHINESE TRANSLATION OF THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:

Every day, we make appointments.

Some we keep, others we postpone or cancel.

However, there are two appointments

that every person must keep.

The Bible says that every person has an appointment with death and an appointment with God after death. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

1. An Appointment With Death

We have an appointment with death because of sin. We all sin because of the choice of one man—the first man, Adam. Adam disobeyed God’s first command and ate of the forbidden fruit. The Bible says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). We are all sinners by nature and by choice. Our sin brings both physical and spiritual death (separation from God).

2. An Appointment With God

We all have an appointment with God after death. When we meet God, He will either judge us as sinners or accept us into heaven as His children. “Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:31). “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).

How Can You Be Ready?

Good works will not prepare you for this meeting. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We can only have salvation because of the choice of an obedient, sinless man. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” (I Peter 3:18). The second man, Jesus Christ, obeyed God’s will and died for the sins of mankind so that fellowship with God might be restored and eternal life made available to all. I Corinthians 15:22 says, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Christ died for your sin and rose again from the dead so that you can be ready to meet God!

You alone can choose your future. The only way to prepare to meet God is to obey His command to repent (turn from your way and go God’s way) and to receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Isaiah 55:7 says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Romans 10:9, 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The bad news is that if you do not choose to receive the righteousness of Christ, you will stand before a Holy God with all your sins, and you will be condemned to an eternity in Hell. “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation” (Hebrews 2:3). Hell is a real place and unbelievers will not be allowed into heaven. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).

Are You Ready to Meet God?

If you are willing to humbly acknowledge your sinful condition before God and, in your heart, turn from sin to Christ, you do not have to fear your two appointments.

Won’t you call upon Jesus today?

“But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).

If you receive, you are ready.

If you do not receive, you are not ready.
