Few things in life bring the joy that comes from creating. I love painting the Animal Kingdom; it’s my solitude to grow, reflect, and just enjoy the present moment. When you break down these lovely creatures, you discover a flawless perfection in their design.
For instance: you’ll find flowing lines from the inside point of the ear to the top inside corner of the eye, which fall directly down to the inside corner of the nose. Then you see the preciseness of where the nose ends; exactly halfway down is the line for the mouth, and the same distance from the mouth is the chin. And that’s just the face! Through every painting, I’m in awe of the Designer and Creator, our God. He created these creatures’ beauty and this world for us.
And yet, it’s temporary. But He isn’t. And His love for us doesn’t have time attached—it’s eternal. The evidence of His existence is all around us, and the evidence of His love can be found in His Word for us.
Psalm 22 “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken Me?...” (see the full chapter)
Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
I’ll never understand THAT kind of love, at least not in this life, but I’m grateful and happy to share it with you.
And as for animal painting, I’m now embarking on a new series of those specifically found in the scriptures, and it’s going to be very exciting!
