If I were you ...
I’d put my state-issued junk on my bed and head straight to the chapel. I’d talk my way into the gate like I finesse my way into everything else. When I made it in the door I’d find a quiet spot to say a prayer. “Lord forgive me! I beg you for your mercy! Please let this chaplain welcome me from this day forward!”
I would skip all the tough talk and mean mugs. Trade all my curse words for God’s Word. I would skip over my 8 years of figuring it all out and making moves. Fast forward pass sharpening knives and blood lusting when people got stabbed. Past watching violence with interest. Right by the blood I’ve drawn and the blood I’ve shed. When Chaplain told me it was time to go I’d tell him he’d see me tomorrow.
Then I would head to the law library and ask God for understanding. Laws are words put together by men. God’s love surpasses all knowledge. Lean on Him for understanding. When they kicked me out of the law library I’d go to my cell and thank God for the day.
When I woke up the next day I’d head to the chapel and Law Library again. I’d fit in the education building in between. Every now and then I might stop by the cafe and canteen to grab a bite to eat.
I would pursue a job in the chapel, law library, or education. Staying close to those three places I’d read everything I could. I’d write when I wasn’t reading. While doing all that I’d be praying without ceasing.
But that’s just me. I can’t tell you how to do you. But bro I’d love to be in your shoes, start my time back over to have an opportunity like you. Be smart child of God! The devil is ready to hand you a shovel. Instead of starting to dig I’d stand on Jesus’s solid foundation. But no matter what you do, you won’t catch me hatin’! I’ll just continue prayin’ for your salvation.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Matthew 6:33
About midnight, while Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God as the prisoners listened, there was suddenly such a severe earthquake that the foundations of the jail shook; all the doors flew open, and the chains of all were pulled loose. Acts 16:25-26
So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us.
We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20
