From a spiritual perspective, the most important thing you can do is to take a few minutes and answer the following questions. You may not know it but your eternal destiny will be determined by your answers. Regardless of what you currently believe, since you do not know everything about everything; you have to admit that it is not beyond the realm of possibility that you may be wrong about some of your spiritual beliefs. Therefore, in order to know what is true, you owe it to yourself to examine the evidence. I can promise you that if you do so honestly and sincerely, you will come to the same conclusion that I did. Christianity is the only belief system in the world that can satisfactorily answer these five basic questions of life:
Origin — Where did we come from?
Identity — Who are we?
Meaning — Why are we here?
Morality — How should we act?
Destiny — Where are we going?
Since we have already seen that no one knows everything about everything, human probability comes into play and that requires faith. After examining the evidence about a matter, you draw your conclusion. But, since your study could not possibly have included all of the available facts, you must base your conclusion on the probability (your faith) that it is correct. It all comes down to who has the most reliable evidence and how factual that evidence is to support beyond a reasonable doubt that your conclusions are true. Therefore, no matter what your source of information, your conclusions will be based, to some extent, on your faith.
I have found, and I think that you will also after a careful study, that the only proven, reliable, tried and true source for obtaining satisfactory answers to these five questions is the Bible. God is perfect and He says His Word is true (John 17:17). It has stood the test for ages and proven itself to be true and historically accurate in spite of the skeptics and many challenges to its authority. Therefore, you can reliably put your faith in it and rest assured that what is says is true and what it predicts will surely come to pass. As for me, I would rather put my faith in the only infallible one who proved Himself to be God by rising from the dead than to trust in anyone else since they are all fallible (Romans 3:4).
I challenge you to honestly examine every belief system known and when you do, you will find that it takes more faith to believe in any other system, even agnosticism, than it does to believe in Christianity. The reason is obvious. If you examine the historical, scientific, and empirical evidence available, you will find that there is more factual and reliable evidence to support Christianity than any other belief system.
Here are several facts that are irrefutable. You may not believe them but that will never change the absolute truth of them. You see, truth is absolute. There is no middle ground. The fact that you may not believe it will never change it.
Fact #1: Christianity is the only belief system in the world that provides verifiable historical facts to authenticate its truthfulness. Over 300 prophesies in the Bible were made hundreds of years prior to their exact fulfillment.
Fact #2: Christianity is the only belief system in the world that provides a faith-based rather than a works-based access to God. (Eph. 2:8,9).
Fact #3: Christianity is the only belief system in the world that provides an instantaneous supernatural conversion (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Fact #4: Christianity is the only belief system in the world that provides a Savior who did for us what was impossible for us to do for ourselves (1 Corinthians 15:3).
God’s Word is clear, “Ye must be born again” (John 3:3,7). If you have never believed and received this truth by faith, you are destined for a lost eternity separated from God (John 3:36) and your not believing it will never change this absolute truth.
I beg you to honestly and sincerely examine God’s truth about your eternal destiny. If you want to face the reality about yourself, please read the following five scriptures from the Bible and let the Holy Spirit of God show you the truth about how you can be born again. Please recognize that the Holy Spirit of God was sent to convict you of these truths (John 16:8):
“All have sinned” (Romans 3:23). Acknowledge that you are a sinner.
“Christ died for our sins” (1 Cor. 15:3). Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins.
“God … commandeth all … to repent” (Acts 17:30). Repent of your sins.
“As many as received Him” (John 1:12). Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
“Confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus” (Romans 10:9). From your heart, confess all the above to God.
If you do this by faith, simply taking God at His Word, you will know what it is to have eternal life. Read John 3:16 and replace the words “world” and “whosoever” with your name. Then, thank God for saving your soul and read 1 John 5:13 to know for sure that God means what He says.
This is the only way to truly know what it means to be free (John 8:32). What will it be for you: eternal bondage or eternal freedom in the Lord Jesus Christ? God made you in His image with a freedom to choose, so He leaves the choice up to you. However, be sure that you make your choice before you die because then it will be too late (Hebrews 9:27). —D.G.R.
