E. coli is a disease that can cause illness or death, especially when it is on unwashed or improperly cooked food, as well as unwashed utensils. Sin is also disease—one which all of humanity has committed (Romans 3:23). Sin is doing wrong against God. The sin of not believing on Jesus Christ—who died for our sins—prevents us from entering into heaven.
In the Bible, in Revelation 21:27, we read, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” How do we get our names written in the Lamb’s book of life? By believing that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, died for our sins, was buried, was raised the third day, and appeared to the twelve disciples (1 Corinthians 15:3-5). This is the message of the Gospel.
Jesus also said in John 8:24, “...if you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins.” In 2 Corinthians 5:21, we read, “God made Him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
So believe on Jesus Christ today to be saved from the disease of sin!
